Daily Journal “ C’est quoi votre chose prefere d’hiver? mins
Pourquoi?”
I want them to read over the comments I gave them last week
for their journals. Everybody is doing good, I want them to start
watching out for Feminems & Masculins and plurals!
 I will collect everybodies Restaurant projects and thank
them all for their hard work!
 I will also give out a quick exit slip if they liked the
project, thought it was too long, too hard….etc. Just for
my feedback!
 Today we are going to switch gears and talk more about
grammar
 Today specifically we are going to talk about Subject and
personel pronoms – les sujet et personel pronoms
 I will talk about them and see what they remember,
because it should be review
Activity 1: Formative 15
I will write on the board: mins
o Je/J’ = I
o Tu = You
o Il/elle = He/She
o Nous = We
o Vous = You(them)
o Ils/Elles = They

o The first 3 are Singluar pronoms. They discuss individual


people.

o I will go through the list and write that the first 3 are 1st,
2nd and 3rd person. As well as the last three

o The last 3 are Plural Pronoms. They discuss groups of


people.

o Il can also be used for a few ways that aren’t necessarily


talking about a person. For example, Il fait froid dehors. –
It is cold outside

o Il and Ils are masculine

o Elle and Elles are feminem

o I will write on the board some practices sentences for us


to go over. In the sentences, I will ask them what is the
personal pronoms and verbe in the sentence

o Pierre aime la neige. – Il aime la neige ( Pierre is the


pronom, Aime is the verb)

o Les filles sont aller au cinema. – Elles sont aller au


cinema

Activity 2: Formative Rest of


 There are 2 worksheets they can do to practice this Class
 I will quickly go through each one with them to explain
what they are. I will give them the subject one to do first,
because it is easier. Then they can move onto the other
one
 If they finish those 2 sheets, I have an extra colouring
sheet they can also do. I won’t print any yet, only if
certain kids are done and there is enough time
Conclusion: Formative 3 mins
 I want to review their worksheets and see if they
understood the concpets or not.
 We are working on the same thing tomorrow but
expanding, so I need to know if I should cover it again
before moving on.
 I also want to review their exit slips to see what they
learned and liked about our last project

Reflection/Feedback:
I took it really slow. I took a while to talk about their journals and common mistakes
I found in their writing. Then they wrote their journals for today as I collected their
restaurant projects.

I eased into the pronoms really slowly and went over every concept really slowly. I
wrote everything on the board for them to see. They worked fairly well with the
worksheets. I already marked them and gave some formative feedback and most of
them did okay or at least understood some things. The first worksheet I gave wasn’t
very good. It explained things weird and confused them. The second worksheet was
better. I forgot to tell them that when there is more than one person, of a boy and a
girl, Ils gets used regardless. That was confusing for some of them. All of them go
through the first worksheet, and many of them almost finished the 2nd worksheet.
Good thing I had that colouring print out ,because a couple of them finished
everything so quickly and moved onto that activity quick. I will probably need to do a
quick review of it tomorrow, when explaining Avoir & Etre
