classifies the job into sub jobs and analyze the nature of each sub jobs. Its
main objective is to differentiate it from other jobs and to set out its outer
limits. It includes

TITLE - SAFETY MANAGER
 Existence & awareness of a safety policy.
 A safe work place without risk to health.
 Safe place & machinery, safe movement, storage & use of articles & substances.
 Safe plant & machinery, & safe movement, storage & use of articles &
substances.
 Adequate provision of first-aid welfare facilities & support.
 Proper & timely assessment of risks to health & safety signs.
 Liaison as necessary with other organizations & relevant authorities & assistance
& cooperation concerning audits & remedial actions.
 The work place satisfies health, safety & welfare requirements for ventilation,
temperature, lighting sanitary, washing & rest facilities.
 Preventions & precautions against, or adequate, control of, exposure to hazardous
substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical noise, radiation &
manual handling risks.
 Surveillance & reporting or health & safety practices & systems.
 Recruitment, selection, management & development of health & safety direct
reporting staff.

Job Specification:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Job Qualification:
1. Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering or related field.
2. Certified safety professional status.
3. Five year’s professional safety experience in manufacturing industry.
4. Strong verbal, written, analytical & persuasive skills.

NOTE: Developing knowledge is required at the intermediate level, considerable


knowledge is required at the experienced level, and thorough knowledge is required
at the advanced level.
Knowledge of state laws related to the safety of people and property.
Knowledge of the principles of safety, accident, and fire prevention.
Knowledge of first aid methods and techniques.
Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations safety and
security of people and property.
Skill in the proper use of firearms.
Ability to maintain composure and respond properly during emergencies.
Ability to learn and apply written laws, rules, and regulations related to the work.
Ability to concentrate on a designated area for extended periods.
Ability to walk for long periods.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Fire and Safety Officer (Lead Worker)
Ability to train, guide and evaluate the work of other Fire and Safety Officers.
Ability to determine work priorities and allocate work to other Fire and Safety
Officers.
Fire and Safety Officer (Senior Worker)
Ability to work independently.
Ability to plan, develop and conduct employee safety, fire prevention and accident
prevention programs.
Ability to determine work priorities.

Physical Requirements
The job duties require an employee to be absent of any physical limitation, which
would impair effective performance in the Departments of Corrections, Military and
Veterans’ Affairs, and Community Health.
Experience
One year of experience in a security guard or public safety occupation.
One year of experience equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer.
Two years of experience equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer, including one year
equivalent to a Fire and Safety Officer.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications
Absence of a criminal record of felony convictions which would prohibit the applicant
from receiving, possessing, and carrying a firearm.

The ways for selection of safety manager is not simple because first of all we will check
that whether he work any other factory as a safety manager or not & does he know about
something about fire off if in a factory by mistakes than he fire offs or not we may ask
certain questions to him if he give satisfactory answer to fire off then we select him
otherwise not. Checking of certificates and practical knowledge on field has to be tested.
Clarify about the working condition. Medical examination for vision, smell and liquor
consumption pattern etc has to done before finalization.

Following Criteria is there for a selecting

A safety manager is as follows:-

 He should be a younger below us years of age not more than so years of age.
 He should be a male.
 He should always be in active mode if any type of situation arises like fire.
