Load and Stress difference:

Load spreads internally and body is stressed externally

Both Load and Stress are caused by external agents and body gets deformed.

Load is external and body gets stressed internally.

Load is external agency and stress has nothing to do with internal forces.

Stress is:

physical quantity that expresses the external forces that neighboring particles of a continuous
material exert on each other, while strain is the measure of the deformation of the material.

material exert on each other, while strain is the measure of the deformation of the material.

When a prismatic bar is fixed at one end and a tensile or compressive force is applied at the other then

uniform stress condition exists throughout the length of the bar except near the ends. The stress
distribution at the end of a bar depends upon how the bar is supported.

Non-uniform stress condition exists throughout the length of the bar except near the ends. The
stress distribution at the end of a bar depends upon how the load P is transmitted to the bar.

uniform stress condition exists at the ends except throughout the entire length of the bar. The
stress distribution in the entire bar depends upon how the load P is transmitted to the bar.

Load is applied on the beam then

If the load happens to be distributed unevenly over the end, then the stress pattern at the end
will be the same as everywhere else.

If the load happens to be distributed uniformly over the end, then the stress pattern at the end
will be different from everywhere else.

If the load happens to be point load at the the end, then the stress pattern at the end will be the
same as everywhere else.

If the Stress is applied and distributed uniformly over the end, then the stress pattern at the end
will be the same as everywhere else.

Strain property is:

Numerical values of strain are usually large, because bars made of structural materials undergo
only small changes in length when loaded.

Numerical values of strain are usually very small, because bars made of structural materials
undergo substantial changes in length when loaded.

Numerical values of strain are usually medium, because bars made of structural materials
undergo only small changes in length when loaded.

What is true about stran energy and resilience:

The energy which is stored in a body, when strained within elastic limit is known as strain energy
and total Strain energy stored in a body is called resilience.
