Blending & Optimization system for production of MS & HSD:

End User: Essar Oil Ltd, India

Role: Project Engineer

Essar Oil Ltd which is India’s second largest single unit refinery have existing facility to
produce MS BS III,IV and export grade and Diesel BS III,IV. They want to produce MS
BS V, Export grade MS, Diesel BS V and Ultra low sulfur diesel.

Existing DCS facility and Blending system modified for new production facility. Field
Equipment like Flow control valve, PT, TT, Pumps, NIR Analyzer, LIMS system and
tanks MOVs need to be interface with DCS.

 System architecture, FDS, FAT document, control narrative and specification

preparation.
 IO list, Network topology, DCS (Honeywell EPKS with C300) logic, HMI
graphics development and SQL data base prepared as per project requirement.
 Optimization control narrative for control of product quality like sulfur, MON,
RON, Rvp (total 17 property for each product) etc., PID for control of FCV, Blend
law implemented.
 Both ratio controller and split range controller implemented, Interface with ABB
DCS for pump control and LIMS system for analyzer data integration by OPC.
 Successfully completed FAT with customer.
 Site commissioning at Essar Oil Ltd and Site acceptance test and performance
guarantee test.

Projects:
Automation & Integration of Balance of Plant for ssLNG:

End User: GreenVille Oil & Gas, Nigeria

Consultant: International Engineering and Construction Ltd, Luxembourg.

Role: Project Engineer

 Basic Engineering and Detail Engineering (Cable schedule, JB schedule, Gland
Schedule, Loop Diagram, IO List) for Balance of plant for ssLNG plant which
consist of 40 Nos of LNG tanks, 10 LNG pump and 12 Load out system.
 Instrument for LNG tank and pump, MarkVIes (SIL3 PLC) and Rx3i (Process
PLC) selection and hardware design.
 Functional Design specification, cause and Effect preparation and logic
implementation for BOP (Process & safety).
 F&G system, Flame detector, Gas detector (Explosimetric & open path type)
selection and layout preparation.
 SCADA and PLC logic development for BOP and integration with LNG
manufacturing plant and power plant.
 Completed FAT
 Co-ordination with sourcing and logistics department for on time delivery of
material to Nigeria.
 Looked after project management installation and commissioning.

Safety Instrumentation System for M/S HPCL (Total 26 Terminals):

End User: M/s HPCL

Role: Project Engineer

 Design of SIL 2 Instrumentation system as per SIF and to meet desired SIL
Level of SIF.
 Selection of instrument and SIL2 PLC and instrument to meet target SIL Level.
 Interface with third party system like ROSOV, MOV, RIM SEAL, F&G
system, Pipe line PLC.
 Erection & Commissioning of SIL 2 PLC, ROSOV, MOV, Gas detector system,
Wireless Radar gauge, PT, Level Switch, Smoke detector, fire alarm panel,
point type gas detector, open path type gas detector, Hooter & siren system.
 Implement logic as per OISD standard and MBLAL committee
recommendation.
 Philosophy preparation for fire water network and commissioning of fire water
system which include PT, fire engine & Jockey pump.
 Closely work with DNV GL for SIL verification of Safety instrument function
for M/s HPCL as per IEC 61511.
Terminal Automation Project for M/s HPCL (Total 20 Terminals):

End User: M/s HPCL

Role: Project Engineer

 Process Instruments erection & commissioning.

 GE 90-30 PLC & GE - PAC 8000 (SIL 2) commissioning.
 Installation & commissioning of field instruments like PT, Radar gauge, RTD,
VFT level switch, fire alarm system, fire & gas system, mass flow meter, ROSOV
(Pneumatic & Electro Hydraulic), MOV, Batch controller, Densitometer, Density
Probe, MSTW, DSSV, fire engine, jockey pump.
 Project execution for Tank farm management system (Honeywell Tank farm
system).
 Control scheme and FDS preparation for terminal automation, oil movement and
Oil & Gas distribution system
 Provide support to a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed
engineering works and provide the necessary technical information for
procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within
budgeted man-hour and project schedules.
 Study engineering documents including the Technical Document, Data Sheets,
review specifications, Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, review
Philosophies, design Basis and other relevant documents.
 Review and check detailed engineering documents and drawings including
Telecoms Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets, Bill of Quantities, Block
Diagrams, Cable Routing & Equipment Layouts, Tagging Schedule, Terminations

Schedules and other design calculations and drawings.
 Liaison with third party vendors and other GE channels for cross disciplinary items
(i.e. PLC/SCADA/Control system and other accessories required as a part of
project) for its ordering and delivery with factory.
 Create/coordinate with factory and sub-vendors for documentation like wiring and
dimensional drawings, Inspection plan, third party inspection, test certificates and
other documentation required as a part of project deliverables, Coordinate with
sales channel/customer for approval of documentation
