Date of Birth: 09/03/1998

On 02/05/2019 20:10 the defendant was arrested for the offense(s) of:

Offense Date Offense Description Statute Gov Code Severity DV

1 02/05/2019 AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING 76-5-302 UT F1 No

2 02/05/2019 AGGRAVATED EXPLOITATION OF A CHILD 76-10- UT F1 No

412(1)(A)(II)
5 02/05/2019 THEFT OF A FIREARM OR OPERABLE VEHICLE 76-6- UT F2 No
412(1)(A)(II)

I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
The victim called police and reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim reported that he had met
a female on the street, hereafter identified as DC, and went back with DC to her apartment at the Georgia
Apartments at 2015 S 200 E to offer her help she may need. Once they arrived at the apartment, the victim
reported that the A/P Alex Martinez was waiting with a gun pointed at him, and that the A/P, along with the DC,
robbed the victim at gunpoint of his property which included his credit card, car keys, and cell phone. DC left
the apartment briefly while the A/P held the victim at gunpoint. DC went and withdrew 300 dollars from the
A/P’s bank account at a nearby ATM before returning. DC and the A/P then left the apartment, ordering the
victim to stay. DC and the A/P left in the victim’s vehicle. The victim soon after summoned help and called
police.

Officers located DC a short time later and she was interviewed by detectives. Post-Miranda, DC informed
detectives that she prostitutes herself by offering sex acts for money. DC informed detectives that the A/P is her
pimp and that he had directed her to take part in a planned robbery in which she would pick up a client on the
street, bring him back to the apartment, and that they would rob him at gun point of his property and money.
DC described the A/P as being manipulative and controlling of things she can and can’t do, and directs her to
commit acts of prostitution. A/P Alex Martinez is 20 years old and DC is 17 years old. DC admitted to detectives
that she took part in robbing the victim, along with the A/P, and that after robbing the victim, DC and the A/P left
in the victim’s vehicle. DC located a Ruger 9mm handgun in the glove compartment and gave it to the A/P, who
DC states gladly accepted it and remarked that he liked it more than his current firearm he was carrying.

A/P was located a few hours later by officers. A/P had in his possession the Ruger 9mm handgun that was stolen
from the victim. A/P was interviewed by detectives and admitted post-Miranda that he took part in holding the
victim at gunpoint from leaving the apartment, while DC went and withdrew money from the victim’s credit card
at an ATM. A/P admitted to leaving with DC when she returned and taking the victim’s firearm, which was
located in the victim’s stolen vehicle. A/P denied DC's claim that he is her pimp or forces her to prostitute, but
did have knowledge of her doing so.
