UTAS STUDENT LIVING STANDARDS

The Student Living Standards are community guidelines to ensure residents can live safely,
respectfully, in harmony with each other and their surroundings. The standards include important
information regarding acceptable standards of behaviour, and will refer to our University Statement of
Values, the University Behaviour Policy (UBP) and the Residential Tenancy Agreement Terms and
Conditions (or NRAS Agreement).

The Student Living Standards are enforced by the Student Living Team (SLT):

▪ Director of Student Life

▪ Manager of Student Living and Manager of Student Experience & Wellbeing

▪ Student Living Coordinators

▪ Student Living Support Officers

▪ Residential Leaders

The SLT may refer externally to the following community stakeholders to ensure the safety of
residents:

▪ UTAS Safe & Fair Community Unit

▪ UTAS Counselling

▪ UTAS Security

▪ Tasmania Police

▪ Emergency Contacts

Residents must familiarise themselves with the terms of the Student Living Standards, the UBP and
Terms and Conditions of their Agreement with UTAS Student Living. At all times Residents must act in
accordance with the positive behaviours outlined and not engage in behaviour or conduct in breach of
the Student Living Standards. Incidents of inappropriate behaviour should be reported to the SLT and
Safe and Fair Community Unit. Support other community members who have experienced
inappropriate behaviour. Speak up when witnessing or experiencing inappropriate behaviours, report it
and ask for help.
