Chapter 1

Having a new educational program or k to 12 curriculum is a great

help but there is a

problem with it , And this is a material deficiency that the student

will use such as

instructional materials, Lack of available classroom due to the

growing number of

students,Even if there are many teachers hired and with knowledge

they still need

to develop their skills . Another problem is the of teachers to be

trained on

educational research , evaluation and classroom management .

There are teachers

who hired but are not BS education graduates.

We need to build relationships with local businesses and career

academies, and

create incentives for companies to hire students, in order to create

a revenue stream

for schools.

Look to competitive pricing and creative solutions.

Leaders must not be afraid to take risks and support the changes
needed to bring

about this kind of budgeting.

K-12 System aims to improve filipino students' Mathematical,
scientific, and

linguistic ,competence. With the new curriculum, DepEd offer

higher quality

education through tracks. Each track will give students enough

time to master a

field and enhance their skills. Department of education this study is

a manifestation

of the extent of implementation of K to 12 in some private and

public schools where

thid study was conducted. This information may be used as a

feedback of the

compliance of the schools used in thid study, relative to such new

curriculum.

Parents this study will voice out their concerns on the additional
expenses they

would incur in educating their children. Schools this information

they may get from

this study may be used as reference on the implementation of K to

12, along the

issues and concerns the school heads and the teachers encountered
on such

implementation.

K-12 Education plan was published on octiber 5, 2010. Department

education

discussion paper (2010), This is part of President Benignos "Noy

noy" Aquino III's

Educational reform program. The P-noy administration believes that

adding more
years to basic education in the Philippines could help solve the
problem of

unemployment, keep up global standards and help filipino students

to have more time to choose the career that best suits their skills.
As of 2010 Luistro averred that-12 basic education plan is said to be
answer to add one more year both primary and

secondary levels plus kidengarten. Though the opinion and reaction

of the public are

divided, some are not. Among the main issues that relate to the k-
12 program are

the financial capacity of parents, the number of schools and

classrooms, the

number of teachers even the availability of books and other school

supplies.

DepEd also stated that the goverment will basically shoulder most
of the education

cost. The enchanced k-12 basic education program is said to be an

answer to the

country's educational reform. This matter is being discussed

anywhere by

educators and stuns anyone who hears this new proposal. school
administrators are

even bothered on new things to be considered for the program's

implementation. In

Quezon city, particularly in the schools where the study was

conducted, there were issues encountered and concems to be
attended by teachers and school heads along the implementation of
k to 12 program. This situation prompted the researcher to conduct
a study relative to these

issues and concerns on the implementation of k to 12 which is now

a law signed by the incumbent President Aquino,
K to 12 is a curriculum which starts from K-Kindergarten and ends
up to Grade 12.

This means that after 13 years of basic education, a pupil/student

who undertakes

this curriculum will be completing 4 certificates or diploma .

Public education was conceived of in the late 18th century. In 1790,

Pennsylvania

became the first state to require some form of free education for
even those who

could not afford it. New York passed similar legislation in 1805. In
1820

Massachusetts became the first state to create tuition-free high

school, 'Boston English'.

The first K-12 public systems were seen in the early 19th century. In
the 1830s and

1840s, Ohioans were taking a significant interest in the idea of

public education.

Schools commonly operated exclusive of one another at this time in

American

history, with little attempt at uniformity. The "Akron School Law of

1847" changed

this. Named after Akron, Ohio, where the system was first
conceived, this law

passed by the Ohio legislature largely unified the operations,

curriculum and funding

of local school systems. Though the law is named "Akron School Law
of 1847", it
took two years to pass, becoming law in 1849.

In this time the educational system in the philippines has changed. The
philippines

goverment leading by department of education was propose and planned on

how to

upgrade the educational knowledge of all filipino becauseof that they adopt.
Inall asian

countries philippines is the only one country who was graduated in college
had not

enough and complete knowledge and skills of education apply in seeking

better job. In

this issues the philippine law makers was passed a bill for the approval of k
to 12

eduational system of the philippines, this is the additional 2 years studies in

highschool

level. To promote and enchance the skills and knowledge of the student in
preparation

to choice the right courses in college ,or optionally student have chance to
seek a job

base on their knowledge and skill after their finish k to 12 program.

The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12years of basic education

(six years of

primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior
High

School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills,
develop

lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education.

We provide 5 questions to ask the opinion of selected students by answering the

survey forms. Here are the following questions:
