ELECTION POLICY
I. OBJECTIVE:
Select qualified officers willing to serve and contribute to the development of the
cooperative.
II. GUIDELINES:
A. Qualification of Voters
Regular members in Good Standing are entitled to vote and be voted upon.
The Board of Directors shall determine these qualified members.

B. Qualifications for the Member of the Board of Directors and Committee


1. Has paid the minimum capital requirement;
2. Has continuously patronized the cooperative services;
3. A member in good standing for the last two years;
4. Completed or manifested willingness to complete the required education
and training;
5. Of good moral character; and
6. Not related up to third degree of consanguinity or affinity to any other
officers in the cooperative.

C. Disqualification for Member of the Board of Directors and Committee


1. Having conflicting interest with the businesses of the cooperative;
2. Having been absent for three (3) consecutive meetings;
3. Having been convicted of any involving financial and/or property
accountability;
4. Holding any elective position in the government;
5. Having been associated with any past anomalies in any cooperative;
6. Being an official of the CDA;
7. Having been disqualified by law; and
8. Acting as School Head or Administrator (applicable only for BOD)

D. Election Procedures
1. Posting of Vacant Positions
The Election Committee shall post a notice of vacant positions within
the school campus two (2) weeks before the election.
2. Filing of Candidacy
 A qualified candidate shall accomplish a certificate of candidacy
with 2x2 picture and shall submit it to any of the members of the
Election Committee
 The filing of certificate of candidacy starts 14 days from the actual
date of the Annual General Assembly meeting.
 The last day of filing is 2 days before the General Assembly.

3. Evaluation and Approve of the Certificates of candidacy


The Election Committee shall evaluate, screen and approve the
certificates of candidacy filed by the interested members.

4. Posting of the Names of the Qualified Candidates


The Election Committee shall post the names of the qualified
candidates 2 days before the General Assembly.

5. Conduct of Election
 The election shall be held during the Annual Regular General
Assembly meeting.
 One vote policy shall be strictly observed.
 No proxy and/or cumulative voting shall be allowed.
 The voting shall be through secret balloting.
 No vote for one shall be allowed.
 The candidates will toss coins in case of tie.
 The election committee is responsible for the counting of votes.
 The Chairman of the Election Committee shall announce the
number of votes gathered by each candidate and shall proclaim the
winners.
