Detailed Lesson Plan in General Physics

.

Content standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of Nuclear Force.

Performance standard: The learners are able to understand the concept of Nuclear Force.
Learning competency: This competency has several subthemes that contribute to overall
understanding of forces and how they affect motion of objects.

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of 60 minutes discussion, at least 75% of the students are expected to:

A. Define Nuclear Force ;

B. Describe the four fundamental forces, sometimes referred to as universal forces.; and

C. Explain the importance knowing this kind of force.

 A force is any influence that causes an object to undergo a change in speed,
a change in direction, or a change in shape. Force also can be thought of as
a push or a pull.
F. Skills to be Developed: Identifying, Observing, Critical Thinking, collaborative skills and
Communicating

orderliness kindly pick up the pieces of
plastics and papers that you may
see under your chairs and arrange
your chairs properly. None, ma’am.
4. Checking of
attendance. Is there any absentee for today?

5. Checking Yes, ma’am.

of assignment Did I give you an assignment last
meeting, Class?
Please pass your preparations and
I will check it later.

3ELICIT Before we proceed to our new

(Recall) lesson, let’s have a short recap
about our yesterday’s lesson

What is our lesson last meeting?

About the atom.

And what is atom Alisa?

Atom is the smallest
particle of a chemical
element that retains its
chemical properties.

Very good. What else? Yes

Rachel?

Each atom consists of a

nucleus, which has a
positive charge, and a
set of electrons that
move around the

video that you watched?
There are two groups
that they pull the rope

that they used to pull the rope?

Very good you’re Very observant They used force to pull

topic
UCLARNE ORCFE
Yes Rica? I think it is a Nuclear
Force.

Very good Rica!

And a Nuclear Force is held by the

forces which protect them from the
enormous repulsion forces of the
positive protons. It is a force with
short range and not similar to the
electromagnetic force.

1 minute Presentation of theBut before we proceed to our new

lesson objectives topic, let me first present to you
our lesson objective for today.

Kindly read. At the end of 60

minutes discussion, at
least 75% of the students
are expected to:

D. Define Nuclear
Force ;
E. Describe the four
fundamental
forces,
sometimes
referred to as
universal forces.;
and

F. Explain the
importance
knowing this kind
of force.
Are you ready for our new topic?

Yes ma’am.

2 minutes Unlocking of difficulties We also have some terms which

you will encounter as we go along
the discussion.

Kindly read
Fundamental Forces-

The Department of
Physics and Astronomy
at Georgia State
University describe
the four fundamental
forces and their relative
properties in their
HypernPhysics site.

Gravitational
Force- Professor Walter
Lewin
explains gravitation in
this video from the
Massachusetts Institute
of Technology.

Weak Force. Weak

nuclear forces are
responsible for
radioactivity. The weak
interaction involves
the exchange of
the intermediate vector
bosons, the W and the Z
Electromagnetic Force-
Electromagnetism is a powerful
force that extends throughout the
universe and is fundamental to
living things, machines and
electronics.
Strong Force-The
strong force binds
protons and electrons in
the nucleus of the atom.
A force which can hold a
nucleus together against
the enormous forces of
repulsion of the protons
Okay thank you. is strong indeed.

12 minutesEXPLORE To begin with our lesson, let’s

have first an activity. Count 1 to 3
to do our activity
( students start counting)

The activity that you will perform

will be entitled

Procedure/mechanics

1. The ball should

put above your
head and don’t
touch it.
2. The two magnets
should face each
other with the
same pole.
3. After the game
the group will
answer the guide
questions. Each
of the group must
select their group
leader who will
present their
output on the
activity.
4. Scores will be
given based from
the rubrics given.

7 minutes EXPLAIN You may now present your work.

The assigned presenter
will discuss the output of

participation for our short activity.

So what happen to the ball if you

put it above your head?

Yes Marisa? You’re very

Participative today.
The ball fallen into the
ground even we do a lot

factors or cause why it is fallen?

surface and also
because of the Gravity
that pull the ball to be

And the second one is the

magnet? What happened to the
magnet if the two faces each other
with same poles? It will attract to
each other or they will have
repulsion?
The two magnets with
the same poles do the
repulsion because only
the opposite poles do the

attraction.
Okay thank you Anna.

5 minutes ELABORATE
Very Good Calvin. Based on the
activity that you did. The weakest
force is Gravitational force.

The second one is? Yes Mercy?

It is the weak force
ma’am

Very good. Can we feel the weak

force?
No Ma’am.

And why we can feel the weak

force if the weak force is greater
than Gravitational force?
Because Weak force do
the small scale so that
we can’t feel it.

Very well said Jomar. And what is

the third one?
Electromagnetic Force
ma’am.

Thank you. You’re correct the third

one is the electromagnetic force
you can observe it based on the
activity that you did a minute ago.

And the last strongest Force in

our Universe is Strong Force this
force can be held the proton to
proton and neutron to neutron.
This force disobeys the law of
distance.

3 minutes Valuing Process What do you think that these 4

forces called fundamental?

Yes Rose?
It’s because these 4
forces if the most
important and popular
forces.

Very good Rose. What else?

Because these 4 forces

are present in every
object I our universe.

Okay thank you Roben.

How do the four fundamental

forces work? Forces and carrier
particles. There are four
fundamental
forces at work in the
universe: the
strong force, the
weak force, the
electromagnetic force,
and the
gravitational force. The
strong force, as the
name suggests, is the
strongest of all four
fundamental interactions.

Very well said Maria.

3 minutes Generalization Before this topic end I want you all
to watch this for additional
information about nuclear Force
