HOLY BAPTISM
Today we welcome Trevor James Behm and Tatum Patrice
Kottwitz into Christ’s family through Holy Baptism. We rejoice
with Trevor and Tatum as their names are being added to the
Book of Life. We pray the Lord’s blessings upon Trevor and his
parents Ryan and Taneal Behm and upon Tatum and her parents

Monday: that the summer short-term mission groups working in
Panama would have a fruitful time of serving brothers and sisters in
the faith and also be granted opportunities to share Christ’s love with
unbelievers.
Guinea - July 22-31
Among the tenuous economic and political stability in the country,
LCMS missionaries continue to proclaim the Good News of Jesus
Christ and equip Guinean Christians to reach out with those around
them with that same Gospel same Gospel.
Tuesday: that conditions would improve in Guinea, which has been
suffering with a poor economy that continues to get worse. With the
global food crisis and rising gas prices, many can afford only one
meal a day. Pray that through all of this, the country can remain
stable and not dissolve into war.
Wednesday: for Tim and Beth Heiney, along with their girls, Katie
and Andrea, who serve based in Conakry, Guinea’s capital. They
have two boys attending university in the U.S. Tim works in
leadership training in the existing Lutheran Church in the Forest
Region of Guinea and has started several churches in Conakry. Beth
is the field administrator. Pray that God will lead them in decisions
for future ministry and how God can best use them.
Thursday: for Tim and Heidi Norton, along with their two children,
Philip and Leslie, who work among the Maninka people. The area in
which they live provides its own special challenges. Pray for this
family, for daily encouragement, good health, wisdom, and guidance
in their ministry.
Friday: for the evangelistic radio ministry at a local radio station
that Tim Norton has begun. This is an outreach for Maninka people to
hear the Word in their language. Pray for Tim as he oversees this, for
his translators, and others he is working with.
Saturday: for Andrea Herman as she studies the language, and that
she makes good contacts and develops good relationships. Andrea
works alongside the Norton family with the Maninka. She will
eventually concentrate on ministry among the Maninka women.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this years
Vacation Bible School a huge success. We had a week full of
learning about Jesus’ love, singing fun new songs, eating delicious Tuesday Youth Hiking 7:30 am
Snacks, playing games and making new friends. With the help of July 22
51 total workers we reached out to an average of 50 children per
day. The week ended with a presentation by Harry Krueckeberg on
the LCMS Mission:Southern Africa and a fun picnic. The Children Wednesday
ended the week knowing that Jesus loves them, cares for them and July 23
will always be with them.
