To Whom It May Concern:

When I first met Abbey Faro, she was in my tenth grade honors English class. She always had her hand raised high when no one else
dared to take a stab at the question posed to the class. Abbey dares to do what others are scared of attempting. She has been a
dedicated member of the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow class where she has taken on a group of second graders and will soon
become a part of an inclusion fourth grade classroom. She is our school’s SCA president. She is an integral part of our Leadership
Workshop staff. And most importantly, she consistently has a smile on her face and welcomes all who want to participate. I have
either taught or advised Abbey for the past three years, and I can without a doubt guarantee that Abbey Faro will positively any
institution she chooses to attend.

As Abbey’s tenth grade honors English teacher, her Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow I and II teacher, as well as her SCA advisor for
the past three years, I have had the amazing opportunity to observe Abbey’s extraordinary intellectual and behavioral attributes in and
out of the classroom. As Abbey’s teacher and mentor in one capacity or another throughout her high school career, I have had the
pleasure of witnessing Abbey grow not only as an individual, but most importantly, as a leader. I have seen Abbey mature and
progress in various domains throughout her four years here at Cox High School and I am proud to say that whether Abbey is a student
in my English class, whether she is leading an SCA Executive Board event, or whether she is teaching a group of elementary students,
Abbey has without a doubt always remained motivated, positive, and dedicated.

As SCA advisor, I am always looking for potential candidates that will inspire and motivate our student body. In Abbey, I definitely
found one. A president like Abbey comes few and far between. Example number one: Abbey is involved in numerous school and
community activities, so many I have lost count; yet, it seems to me as though SCA and VTfT are Abbey’s number one priority. That
is because Abbey makes it appear this way. She is the type of student who will text message me at 8 PM (nightly) to ask if anything
else needs to be done. She will volunteer her time to give a tour of the school to a last minute enrolling freshman or to attend a charity
CHKD Love Run meeting on a Saturday to promote the cause. Abbey makes all of her activities, sports, and academics her number
one priority, not to mention her dedication and compassion for those involved. This is a characteristic of a true leader.

Example number two: Abbey recently led a VTfT project at Cox. She took the lead on designing a peer tutoring program at Cox HS.
She helped to create a peer tutoring application, design a peer tutoring room, recruited and trained peer tutors, and foresaw the start of
the actual tutoring program. Without Abbey, the peer tutoring program at Cox would have never taken flight. It was truly amazing to
witness. Her willingness to lead by example and to be a team player makes her a role model for not only for VTfT and our peer tutors,
but also for the Executive Board that she leads but also for the rest of the student body. To possess this trait is not unheard of but to
exhibit this quality 100% of the time is a valuable and extraordinary quality.

However, what I am most fond of is Abbey’s kind-heartedness. I place her on a pedestal because of how truly sweet she is to all those
around her. She is very inclusive and because of this, the students at school think highly of her as well. Abbey brings a smile and
sense of belonging to everyone around her. I have never seen more student involvement at Cox HS than this past year with Abbey
governing our school. Her spirit is truly one of a kind.

Abbey’s positive outlook on life and situations is contagious to those around her and I sincerely feel remorse for any institution that
does not get to experience an Abbey Faro. I highly recommend Abbey Faro and have absolutely no reservations in doing so.
Sincerely,
