Foreword

 The IDEAL (Seamless MPLS) solution allows for large-scale

dynamic networking, lowering performance requirements on case-
shaped devices and reducing pressure on aggregation devices.

 This Chapter describes how to deploy MPLS and create MPLS

tunnels to bear services. Configuring both TE tunnels and LDP
LSPs to bear services is recommended in this solution. End-to-
end services are carried over TE tunnels, and local switching
services are carried over LDP LSPs.

Objectives
 After completing this course, you will be able to:

 Understand MPLS tunnel Design and Deployment on ATN+CX

network.

 Configure TE tunnels and LDP LSPs.

MPLS tunnels Selection
 MPLS tunnels can be RSVP-TE tunnels or LDP LSPs.
 The LDP protocol is simple, and therefore LDP LSPs are easy to configure.
You only need to enable LDP on interfaces, and do not need to configure LSPs
in point-to-point mode.

 The RSVP-TE protocol is complex, and therefore RSVP-TE tunnels are

complex to configure. RSVP-TE tunnels must be configured in point-to-point
mode.

 RSVP-TE+LDP can be used to bear LTE services. As S1

services have high requirement for protection switching and
X2 services need to be transmitted through the shortest
path, use TE tunnels to bear S1 services and LDP LSPs to
bear X2 services.
