    About the FORWARD

    Forum for Rural Women Ardency Development (FORWARD) is a nongovernmental


    Microfinance Organization, which is located in the eastern part of Nepal. The
    Organization is headed by like-minded committed professional women group.
    FORWARD works for backward poor vulnerable, indigenous, tribal people and
    their communities to awareness- campaign and advocacy for their rights to
    empowering women. The organization develops trusts from supporters with
    the base of cooperation idea's and collective views to significant role in poverty
    alleviation and community development through women and children. The
    organization improves its traditional cultures and bad-habits though microfinance
    to uplift the poor communities.

    FORWARD had been established in B.S. 18 Baisakh, 2052 (1st May, 1995). And it
    started Micro credit since 2053 BS (March 1996) to serve the poor marginalize
    women groups and their communities. It was licensed by NRB (Nepal Rasta Bank)
    Central Bank of Nepal as a Micro-finance Intermediary at 15 Pause, 2059 BS (30
    December, 2002) to runs as a formal service provider of Microfinance. This
    Organization has been working together with Rural Micro Finance Development
    Centre (RMDC), Nepal Rasta Bank (NRB) Central Bank of Nepal, Other Financial
    Institutions Himalayan Bank, NIC Bank, St. Chartered Bank, Bank of Kathmandu,
    Citizen Bank, Clean Energy Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Sri Invest Finance Com.
    FORWARD Cooperative, Asian Development Bank (ADB), PLAN Nepal, UNICEF,
    CADP, different Commercial Banks, other local agencies, and related District
    Development Committee, District Administration Office, District Education Office,
    Regional and District Health and Agriculture development, Implementation of
    Units (IOU) and other various funding NGOs, INGOs.
