PROPOSAL TITLE : English Day

1.0 Objective

The general aim of the ‘English Day’ is to improve students’ English proficiency.
Specifically, it is to achieve the following objectives:

1.1 To improve students’ communication skills.

1.2 To provide opportunities for students to develop their organizational skill and
event management skills

1.3 To enchance students’ creativity

1.4 To improve students’ proficiency through various competitions held.

1.5 To create awareness that language can be acquired through non-formal classroom
activities

1.6 To foster closer relationship between students and staff.

2.0 Background

In line with the method of student-centred learning and in response to the needs of
providing more educational activities for the students in the campus, the
Communication English 1 lecturer is taking the initiative to propose ‘English Day
2013’ which comprises of various competitons and activities.

This event will be the first English Day that be held by student diploma who taken
subject Communication English 1 at UniKL MITEC and can be a benchmark for this
event another year.

This program will be held successfully with full support from the Dean’s Office,
lecturers, staffs and students. From this event, the student who taken subject English
will be grateful because of the concern from the management that organizes the event
especially for them.

4.0 CONCLUSION

The English Day that is to be held will be the first ‘English Day’ event to be
organized by the UNIKL MITEC English lecturer and UNIKL MITEC students based
on the demand to have more activities for the students and promote the use of English
in the university. The event will also contribute towards improving English
proficiency among the students. Thus your approval is important with the hope that
this event will be carried out continuously every semester by the students
