The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the pre-
eminent men's professional basketball league in North
America. With thirty teams, the NBA is widely considered
to be the premier men's professional basketball league in
the world. It is an active member of USA Basketball..
The league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946,
adopted the name National Basketball Association in
1949.
 A basketball court should be a
hard, flat, rectangular surface
and free of obstacles, with 28 m
long and 15 m wide.
 The perimeter of the track must
be free of obstacles to 2 m away.
 The field is divided into two
equal and with a circle (D=3.6 m)
as part of the centre of the court.
 The three-point line is located

from the basket.
The basketball players

of roles that make them

divisions with 5 teams each, based on the
geographical location of the teams.

 Atlantic: Boston Celtics, Nets of New Jersey, New York
Knicks, of the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76′ers.
 Center: Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit
Pistons, Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks
 Southeast: Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats, Miami
Heat, Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:
 Southwest: Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Memphis
Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets and San Antonio Spurs
 Northwest: Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves,
Portland Trail Blazers, Thunder Oklahoma City and Utah
Jazz
 Pacific: Golden State Warriors, Clippers of the Angeles,
Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings
Each of the teams at the end of the regular
season has played 82 games, 41 local and
visitor 41. Each team has faced four times
with each of the teams from the same
division in the season (16 games). Three or 4
times with the other teams of the other 2
divisions. And 2 times with each opposing
team of the Conference opposed in every
season.

The Eastern Conference champion will face

with the Western Conference champion in
the final.
