COURSE NAME: MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM FOUNDATION
PRE-REQUISITE: NIL

1.0 SYNOPSIS

This course focuses on multimedia basic concepts, multimedia elements,


multimedia designs, multimedia technologies and areas of multimedia
applications. It also introduces technologies in multimedia system including the
platform, development tools and hardware categories. Students will be
stressed on design principles, development method and application
distribution to ease the process of developing and marketing multimedia
system. Other than that, focus will be given to concept and techniques of
multimedia such as humanizing impacts, laws and career will be done.

2.0 OBJECTIVE

At the end of this course, students will be able to

2.1 understand the underlying theories and concepts of multimedia


elements, design and technologies.
2.2 acquire knowledge and skills necessary to use authoring and design tools
in multimedia field.
2.3 develop awareness of the use of multimedia application, tools and
emerging technologies in real life problems.

3.0 LEARNING OUTCOME

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

3.1 describe multimedia concepts including multimedia elements, design and


technology discussed in this course. (C1, A1, P1)
3.2 apply multimedia design by using authoring and design tools to solve real
life problem. (C3, A3, P2)
3.3 develop multimedia application based on the design and the
methodology discussed in this course. (C3, A3, P3)
3.4 discuss technology related issues, application, laws and career in
