1. Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament – Australia won the 27th edition of this
tournament. Australians have won this tournament ten times. Whereas, India has
won this tournament only 4 times.
2. Deodhar Trophy (Cricket) – India won the 45th edition of this tournament by
defeating Karnataka in the finals. The finals were held at Himachal Pradesh
Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
3. Under 19 World Cup (Cricket) – India won the Under-19 ICC World Cup
2018 by defeating Australia in the finals. Thus, India became the first country to
win the Under-19 ICC World Cup four times.
4. Australian Open 2018 (Lawn Tennis) – Roger Federer won the Australian
Open 2018 by defeating Croatia’s Marin Cilic.
5. Ranji Trophy tournament (Cricket)– Vidarbha won the 2017 Ranji Trophy
tournament by defeating Delhi at the Holkar stadium in Indore.
6. World Chess Championship 2017 - Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand
(48) won World Rapid Chess Championship Title by defeating Russia’s Vladimir
Fedoseev.
7. World Weightlifting Championships - Saikhom Mirabai Chanu from India
won the gold medal at World Weightlifting Championships that was held in
Anaheim, U.S.
8. IBSF World Billiards Championship - Pankaj Advani from India won this
tournament that was held at Doha. In the final match, he defeated Mike Russell
of England 6-2.
