TRAINING DESIGN IN TAEKWONDO EVENT

I. BACKGROUND / RATIONALE

The Department of Education through the PESS Division of Cagayan

conceptualized the need of a rigid training in preparation of athletes in all sports
event in the forthcoming Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association Meet
(CAVRAA) on March, 2019.

During the division consultation with the winning coaches and trainers in the
different sports events, one of the issues highlighted is the need to build the
capabilities of the coaches and must be equipped with the necessary skills in
coaching the sports and prepare the athletes to fight in the higher level of
competition.

The Division Plan of Action was formulated and directives were given to the
coaches through the PESS Supervisor to ensure that conduct of training should
follow a certain parameters and guide for scientific training and scheduled are
prepared to facilitate the proper application and implementation.

Hence, in Taekwondo event we have prepared a training design as guide for

coaches and trainers to train and instruct the athletes for maximum delivery of
appropriate skills and techniques needed in Taekwondo competition.
