BOROBUDUR TEMPLE

The temple is located in Magelang, Central Java, about 40 km from Yogyakarta. In 1991,
the Borobudur temple designated as a world heritage by UNESCO.

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. This temple was built without
using cement. The structure as a whole row of lego mutually reinforce and made simultaneously
without glue at all, there are 1,460 series of reliefs along the walls of the pavilion. The entire
monument itself resembles a giant stupa, but when viewed from the top will be shaped like a
mandala. The biggest stupa at the top of the temple is located 40 meters above the ground. The
main dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statue inside perforated stupa.

Besides having a high architectural value, this monument is a holy place and the Buddhist
pilgrimage. Every year on the full moon in the month of May (or June in leap years), Buddhists
in Indonesia celebrate Vesak at Borobudur. On the eve of Vesak, especially during moments of
peak full moon, Buddhists gathered around Borobudur. At that time, Borobudur is believed to be
a gathering place for supernatural powers. According to belief, at the time of Vesak, Buddha will
appear in a look at the top of the mountain in the south.

highest tower with a fast time will be the winner. This game teaches us to trust each other, so we can
work together as a team.

✓ Palung Laut
This game is about dreams and future expectations of each person. The game will see the effort in
achieving that dream on the trees. Each participant in the group must take the expectations that are in
the tree, but there is a circle around the tree is using a rope that can not be passed by the participants.
Thus, the participant must take hope without touching or passing through the rope.

✓ Bom Air
This game like a volleyball, but in this game using a balloon filled with water as the balls and cloth
to throw the ball. Later when the balloon filled with water, the balls are thrown towards the opponent
and broke, so the team that throws will get points. Participants may only throw and receive the ball
using a cloth. Of all the participants will be grouped into two teams are teams A and B. Among the team
A and team B will be an obstacle like a net or rope, then one team using a cloth to throw the ball
towards the opponent. The opposing team must try to catch the ball using a cloth and throw it back.

HS Silver is an acronym of the owner "Harto Suhardjo", and Silver is the kind of craft business
what is done and produced from silver material. Since founded in 1953 HS Silver has become a member
of Cooperative Production and Silver Entrepreneurs Yogyakarta (KP3Y). In 1965 HS Silver opened art
shop in Mondorakan No. 1 kotagede until now. While Ansor Silver was founded in 1956 and pioneered
by its founder, Mr H. Ansor Karto Utomo. Silver Ansor products are not only marketed in several major
cities in Indonesia, but also to overseas such as Japan, Europe, America, and Australia. Crafts located at
Tegalgendu No. 28 kotagede building has a design influenced by many cultures such as Java to the shape
of the building is high and China demonstrated by the ceramic wall.

The process of making silver are:

● The sheets of silver pounded with a particular tool to be flattened sheets

Once it is formed according to the design have been made such as teapots, cups, plates,
spoons, and others. Meanwhile, to get a shape like a thread must be sorted using a special tool
to form threads of silver
● silver threads are placed in a paper in the image that has been designed. So stick, dusted with
powdered silver solder.
● then heated using flame spray, then boiled with water so that the former alum black into
white flame due semprota back.

Drainage can be interpreted as an attempt to control the quality of groundwater in relation
to salinity, drainage is one way of disposal of excess water which is not desired in a region, as
well as ways countermeasures consequences caused by excess water.

In essence, the drainage system has many benefits, which are to reduce excess water of a
region or land, so the land can be utilized to the maximum, as the controlling water surface,
lowering the water surface, erosion control, and others.

In essence, a good drainage system can be used as an irrigation system by the villagers, but
because the less care utilization and maximum lead Poncosari drainage system in the village is
not functioning as it should. As a result, during the dry season the village will lack of water and
in the rainy season water will stagnate on the agriculture and plantation residents. this led to a
resident suffer losses due to declining yield.
Information Technology

Development of information and communication technologies can help managing the information
activities of the village administration, especially in Bantul it will give new opportunities to serve the
community with fast, accurate, relevant, and timely. In addition to benefitting the community with quick
service and open, the central government also benefited from the increase in revenue. Because so fast
access to the center of the potential areas that could be developed.

Poncosari village is a village which has a high tourism potential, but the lack of information
technology in the region led to a lack of development in the area of tourism. Information technology can
be used as a means to promote the uniqueness of a region, but if the technology is still insufficient, the
development of tourism potential will be disrupted. Tourist area required monitoring system online or
offline, so if there is an incident it can be handled quickly and appropriately.

Online promotion of tourist areas and restaurant in that areas can increase the income of local
people. For example by creating a website about the prohibition of bringing food from outside or create
billboards for promotion. So the tourists will be interested in buying local food from there on to bring
their own food from home or buy elsewhere.
Agroindustry

Biogas is a gas which produced from anaerobic processes (fermentation) organic material such as
human waste, household waste and animal waste. Materials that are needed in making biogas is
methane and carbon dioxide contained in the organic material.

Poncosari’s Villagers use waste from cow dung to be used as the main material for making biogas.
Gas produced from the fermentation is used by villagers for a fuel. However, because the management
is still using conventional means, the result of a less than optimal fermentation.

Besides being used as raw material for biogas, villagers also take advantage of the solid manure to
be used as manure that can be beneficial to the fertility of agricultural land. However, if the people only
use cow manure waste material to be used as fertilizer, the result will only be a little up in the village
cattle population has declined. Utilization of tree litter can be used as a second alternative in the
manufacture of manure, so although the cattle population decreased production of fertilizers do not go
down significantly.

In the dry season, grasses and other plants will be difficult to grow up and thrive due to lack of
water to dissolve nutrient to be absorbed by plants. Therefore, villagers will have trouble in finding their
forage. In this case, the fodder’s technology is very necessary for animal feed despite sufficient forage
grass is not available. One of the technologies applied is the fermentation of rice straw. The digestibility
of the hay animals longer than the forage grasses, it can be used for backup the fodder, but it is also
good as a straw on energy enhancer for cattle or goats. However, despite the rice straw rich in
carbohydrates supply other nutrients are lacking, so that if it continues to use the intake of these foods
would include livestock animal nutritional deficiencies. Though difficult to get the straw in the dry
season forage grasses like the others, but straw can be fermented during the rainy season, so the straw
can be durable and does not rot.

In the field of fisheries, villager’s Poncosari still limited use of ponds as land for cultivation of
freshwater fish. Thus, the resulting output is not too much, while the demand for fish is increasingly
rising. So the future is expected to be able to use the their land as a place for freshwater fish farming,
thus increasing their daily income. In addition, the shrimp farms in coastal areas began to decline
production.
Industry

Lethek is special noodles from Bantul, Yogyakarta. The food stalls located in Sorobayan,
Gadingsari, Sanden, Bantul. Lethek noodle-making business has been around since the 1940s and the
background of the establishment that is as the opening of jobs for local residents. The uniqueness of this
noodle is not just a name, but also the traditional process.

The main raw material of Mie Lethek are dang cassava (dried cassava) and cassava flour. Until
now, the process are still using simple production equipment with a limited number, so that production
can only meet the demand in the city alone. Drying processing still use direct sunlight to dry the
noodles and drying duration of about 18 hours, so when the rainy season comes, the production will
decline. In addition, the printing process noodles also still using traditional tools and in the operasional
requires about 8 workers. Therefore, production of Mie Lethek limited only to meet the demand of
urban scale only.
Energy

As we know Indonesia has the potential and reserves of renewable energy that has not been
seriously utilized and developed. Geothermal potential reach of 28.8 MW, 112 GW solar, hydro and 75
GW mini hydro, coal-based energy has the potential of 950 MW, while biofuel and biomass has a
tremendous potential of at least 60 GW.
However, behind the advantage with the emergence of the renewable energy sources, there are
still somethings that become a problem in the utilization of the thermal power station. One of which is
wind that used for energy conversion system into electricity are still relatively small with an average
speed of only about 3-5 m / sec. Whereas that commercially feasible, the wind speed required for
thermal power station are in the range of 5-6 m / sec. In Indonesia, only a few areas with sufficient wind
speed of large, mostly around the province of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara Province.
Then, wind energy is a technology with operations that require a backup when the battery needs to be
recharged and the battery storage capacity required also stout so that electricity supply can be met.
However, most of these assistive technologies diesel, so it is not practical, less efficient, and affect the
expected reduction in carbon emissions.
Lastly, the process undertaken to perform maintenance on wind turbines and solar panels still can
not be done optimally. This is because the location of thermal power station is relatively far from the
center of Yogyakarta city government and access to the site is a new site that has not been widely
known by the public. In addition, the majority of local residents also have not been able to perform
maintenance fired plant because not understand about the procedure to be performed and there are
not socialization or training provided to local communities.
Tourism

Baru beach located in Bantul district, precisely in Hamlet Ngentak, Poncosari, Srandakan. Baru
Beach physically separate from Pandan Simo beach with protected forest boundaries. New beach length
of approximately 4000 m, ranging from beach Kuwaru to Progo River estuary.

The development of tourist areas in the Baru Beach and tourists increase would increase
economic conditions of local people. However, during the time villager dispose of waste by buried it in
the ground and discharged into the surrounding environment, such as laundry waste originating from
either the former fish shop or other laundry waste. Such actions will cause potential environmental
pollution like contaminated groundwater.

The continued development of these attractions cause a variety of environmental problems that
arise, which are the sand smells fishy, this is caused by leaching of fish waste and a variety of other
plastic garbage. This action leading to pollution of the marine ecosystem in the surrounding areas. In
addition, it can cause a foul odor that can disrupt community activities and comfort.

Abrasion can cause a thrilling beach rocks or soil off the coast so that in time they will be
separated from the mainland. Most trees such as Casuarina equiisetifolia, Calophyllum inophyllum,
Terminalia catappa c an prevent coastal erosion. However, the layout of the tree planting sites have not
been in synergy with the installation of energy, especially wind power. The existence of trees that are
too high can cause disruption of wind direction and wind speed for turbines. So, the energy generated is
not optimal. In addition, there are many abandoned pools under the turbines, thereby reducing the
aesthetic value of the coastal region.
