PROGRAM SCOPE
SIMPTOL i s t h e c o d e name o f a c o m p u t e r
program which s i m u l a t e s t h e mining o p e r a t i o n s
i n a n o p e n c a s t li n i t e m i n e o p e r a t i n g B u c k e t
Wheel E x c a v a t o r s YBWEs), C o n v e y o r s a n d
S t a c k e r s . The program i s s u i t a b l e f o r t h e
c o n d i t i o n s o f Greek l i g n i t e mines and t h e
mining method a p p l i e d t o t h a t .
Based on m a c h i n e r y p a r a m e t e r s and t i m e
s t u d y i n f o r m a t i o n s from e x i s t i n g o p e r a t i o n s ,
t h e u s e r o f SIMPTOL w i l l be a b l e t o s e l e c t
a n d m a t c h BWEs, C o n v e y o r s a n 2 S t a c k e r s t o
f i t mine p r o f i l e a n d m a t e r i a l c h a r a c t e r i -
s t i c s , and meet p r o d u c t i o n r e q u i r e m e n t s .
F u r t h e r m o r e , s i n c e BWEs, C o n v e y o r s a n d
S t a c k e r s a r e j o b - t a i l o r e d m a c h i n e s , t h e ma-
nagement, u s i n g t h e i n f o r m a t i o n s gair-ed from
t h e simulation o f a given deposit, could
a l s o approach the manufacturer with modifi-
c a t i o n s o r a d d i t . i o n a 1 r e q u i r e m e n t s on o f f e -
r e d machinery.
