Hi  Melissa  –

I  hope  you  had  a  wonderful  summer  with  your  baby,  and  that  the  first  week  back  with  students  has  been  good!

The  EPA  is  looking  to  highlight  a  school  for  Children’s  Health  Month  in  October  that  is  working  on  the  Air  Flags  program.    Or,  if  it  happens  later  than
October,  that  is  OK,  too.    They  can  assist  in  training  staff  or  mee ng  with  students  about  air  quality  issues.

Do  you  happen  to  know  the  status  of  your  Asthma  Friendly  Schools  cer fica on?      Angela  Carter  in  the  City’s  Health  Dept  is  now  working  on  that
program,  and  is  also  interested  in  helping  schools  cer fy  or  recer fy.    I  don’t  know  if  you’ve  made  connec ons  with  your  school  nurse,  who  would  have
had  a  role  in  submi ng  the  applica on  in  the  past.

And  finally,  do  you  think  you’ll  try  for  the  MAEOE  Green  Schools  cer fica on  this  year??  I  think  you  have  a  great  shot  at  comple ng  it!  If  you  are
interested,  let’s  meet  so  we  can  go  through  the  applica on.

Please  let  me  know  your  thoughts.

Thanks
Joanna
