ABSTRACT

Energy is a major input for overall socio-economic development of any society. From
olden days we re using non renewable sources of energy in excess mount for our needs. As this
type of minerals like coal etc. are exhausting so we have to depend on the renewable sources of
energy like solar, wind, etc. For smaller application it is better to use renewable energy.

As this project is based on gravitational force and required AC supply. So for this
particular application we are using Elevator arrangement which uses DC motor to charge the DC
battery and the power from the battery can be used for this application. This project is designed
by using an Elevator arrangement which is connected to the dc motor such that its output is given
to the DC rechargeable battery. Use of embedded technology makes this system efficient and
reliable. Micro controller (AT89S52) allows dynamic and faster control.
Depending upon the movement of the Elevator the DC motor rotates and which will
converts the mechanical energy to electrical energy which is given as an input supply to the 12V
DC rechargeable battery. The o/p of this lead acid battery is given as input to the inverter which
drives the AC loads. The battery is connected to the inverter. This inverter is used to convert the
12 Volt D.C to the 230 Volt A.C. This 230 Volt A.C voltage is used to activate the loads.
AT89S52 micro controller is the heart of the circuit as it controls all the functions.

The output of DC Motor is given to 12V 1.3 Amp-Hour Lead-acid Battery. The battery is
connected to the inverter which is used to convert the D.C 12 Volt to the 230 Volt A.C. By
increasing the capacity of battery and inverter circuit, the power rating is increased.

This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage
regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac
out put of Lead-acid Battery.
