biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

From this source, I have learned the good health benefits when engaging with art. This connect to
my research project because it shows how art is good for the human body and more people should
engage with it when they suffer a downside. This source offered different health problems that were
improved when working with art. The source is reliable because it was researched in a university in
the UK.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

This source fits in my research because it showed me how art is a good outcome for those who
engage with it. It is helpful since it stated different problems that were solved when working with art.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

In the beginning of this article, it talked about how different activities were created by professors to
see the difference after someone engaging with art. This activity was also done on monkeys by using
shapes and colors.

“Artists are known to be better observers and exhibit better memory than non-artists. In an effort to
see what happens in the brain when an individual is drawing and whether drawing can increase the
brain's plasticity, Tyler's colleague Dr. Lora Likova, a scientist at Smith-Kettlewell, developed a way
to capture an individual's drawing during an fMRI scan so that she could study it in congenitally
blind individuals. Subjects explored raised-line tactile images with their fingers and spent a week
learning to draw from memory alone, Tyler explained.” T his source shows the outcome after
engaging with art. People who work with art have a easier way to remember than those who are not
artists. Blind people were also tested to see how their skills increase while working with art.

"When you're doing art, your brain is running full speed," Vikan said. "It's hitting on all eight
cylinders.” People who work with art have more brain activity going on. Brain activity is good
because that means that you keep learning and are able to figure out how to deal with different
obstacles.

"Art accesses some of the most advanced processes of human intuitive analysis and expressivity
and a key form of aesthetic appreciation is through embodied cognition, the ability to project oneself
as an agent in the depicted scene," said Christopher Tyler, director of the Smith-Kettlewell Brain
Imaging Center”. A ccording to this evidence, art is able to create a good human study of how the
brain works. This means that there are changes shown when engaging with art.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

This source responds to my research question because it showed me that there are changed that
occur in the human brain after someone engages with art. Those who engage with art have a easier
way to overcome obstacles and also produce more brain function. Brain function allows you to think,
create and get through different problems that you might face. This information is reliable because it
is studied by professors, doctors and a director of a Brain Imaging Center. The goal of this source is
to shows others this evidence of improvement of the brain when engaging with art.
Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

Yes, this source does fit in my research because it stated that there is a difference for those who
engage with art. It helps me and the audience understand that engaging with art is good for the
brain. You are then easier to solve problems faster and better than those who do not work with art. I
can use this source by showing the research that was done to people and the outcomes of them.

mostly know that art helps develop our imagination and creativity, however there is much more that
art has to offer.

“Students must focus on each detail of their painting, sculpture or musical score to create the
masterpiece as a whole.” When engaging with art, it teaches the student how to focus. There is a lot
of concentration that is required to create details, colors, shadow, light. Therefore a lot of focus will
be produced when working with art.

“The student will be able to recognize their own improvements and where their perseverance has
lead them. In this competitive job market, employees must continually improve on their own skills
and even take on new ones to remain successful.” Art develops skills that require the learner to
learn from their mistakes. As you become a better artist, you will recognize your improvements.
This skill is very useful especially when you start working because you have this idea of becoming
better than others and create a good product. Perfect for those who want to work in the business
fields.

“They gain confidence in the path to discovery, without fear of the final outcome. It goes without
saying, that having confidence is beneficial for personal and professional relationships, helps
