Wildcard Masks:
A "0" looks like a magnifying glass, so we inspect that bit.
A "1" looks like the letter i for ignore, so we ignore that bit.
What a fun thread (these days, I'll take fun anyway I can get it ). Here's one I've been reviewing
today:
BGP Order of Attributes for Selecting the Best Path
W = weight (highest)
L = local preference (highest)
O = originate (locally originated routes)
AS = autonomous system path (shortest)
O = origin code (IGP>EGP>Incomplete) EGP is now obsolete
M = multi-exit discriminator (or metric; lowest)
P = paths (external>internal)
R = router ID (lowest)
O = origin
M = metric
N = neighbor type
I = IGP metric to next hop

Very good Vipin for sys logging levels!

There's a lot of important info about the composite metric and individual metrics, but I'll leave it to
everyone to fill in the details to suit their study plan depending on where they are in their studies.

Learned these many years ago, and have taught it to many more......
A slightly different version of one that has been suggested for the PDUs...

I thought one up for DCE/DTE.
DCE (Denise) is the cable that has the FEMALE connector, crosses-over, and the DCE side
provides clocking on a serial link.
DTE (Dante) is a straight through cable, has a MALE connector, and does not have clocking
capability, that is why Denise gives him the watch.
Nice!
Here is mine:
The CLOCK side is FEMALE because my wife remembers all my appointments I forget.
Back when I first was trying to learn the OSI layers there were only 3 Star Wars movies and there
was only rumors of what was going to be in the prequels. I used this:
"Palpatine Didn't Need To Secretly Prepare Anakin".
I need a better one for the OSPF States, this is kind of dark:

You know, the FTP, SSH and TELNET are alphabetical right. Much easier for me to remember.

SSH 22
TEL 23

Do you know what “Emacewnid” is; it’s a word which will help you
to easily remember syslog Severity & levels.
