GET HAYA!

GET A LIFE AND THE LIFEAFTER!

In the name of the Lord of All the worlds

O children of Adam!

Have you ever come across decaying organic matter? That is what has been happening to our society. It is
rotting and stinking really bad. You already know what we mean i.e. corruption, vulgarity, synthetic emotions,
depression, killing, lies, oppression, etc. In a nutshell, men eating men beyond all his lies. This is what happens
when individuals and society forges ilah on its own and glorify its supremacy in rivalry to the real ilah i.e.
Allah.. This is where the divine vaccine i.e. AL-HAYA-MIN-ALLAH comes as the only saviour for all.

Haya is derived from the word hayat (life)-both linguistically and in reality, is a lofty virtue that sprouts in one’s
heart due to admiration for his Creator’s countless bounties (shukr) and the feeling of constant gaze of Al-
Baseer and angels of Al-Aleem. Quran reminds about them frequently like “So which of the favours of your
Lord would you deny?” It is a silent amalgam of love, fear(taqwa, khashiyah) and shukr and encapsulates the
very spirit of Islam and acquaints human beings with their Lord, themselves and the Lord’s creation.

Haya is a complex but purest emotion that draws from the nectar of all noble qualities, yet it is not blemished by
even the slightest negative connotations they may carry like inability or ignorance. It encompasses the shame
one feels due to the respect of the other, a deep sense of love and an obligation which one feels towards his
Master, a question of loyalty to his master, a guilt which aches one’s heart when some wrong to its beloved is
committed , a fear to get failed in one’s purpose, a pride (ghairah) which maintains self-respect , a dignity and
honour which get hurt when acts are done that doesn’t suits its status, a silent repentance which it can’t bear to
utter, a reminder of his pact(ahad, meethaq) with Allah, fear to face Allah and his messenger with a traitor tag
on the day of judgement, fear to be criticized and rebuked by Nabi SAW at Haudh e Kausar for not following
him behind his back, ashamedness to do anything that Allah has forbidden and to neglect anything that Allah
has ordered , care to not put one’s allegiance rival to Allah, motivator of righteousness and high ambitions, a
check that keeps away from indecency in public or seclusion and prevent them from sinking into undignified
manners and into the mud of sin, fear of not to be haughty and ignorant in front of Lord of All the worlds, soul’s
uneasiness about being lured and deceived by Iblis, intimidation and sadness in the heart due to evil acts
committed before the Lord, one’s inside melting and weeping from the gaze of the Master, deterrence from the
provoking of one’s desires, pricking of conscience, feeling of worthiness of existence, moistness in hearts out of
humility, embarrassment of getting caught in lowly acts , shyness to see one’s beloved, etc. Technically, it is a
safety mechanism for all moral values that finely tunes human behaviour.

Haya is the way by which soul restrains itself, through fear of obscenities and genuine caution regarding
criticism and insult. It is an ingrained faculty of the soul that feed upon eeman and drives one to give people
their rights and to abandon cutting ties or being cruel[unjust] with them. It is associated with modesty, chastity,
generosity, excellence, bashfulness, etc. Heart feeling haya from Allah is fully alive as it is pumping eeman to
the all body so that they remain within boundaries set by Allah through his messenger (as explicit in Quran o
sunnah) and do not transgress. It enjoys life to the fullest and taste the sweetness of eeman and quenches the
thirst of one’s soul. Haya heals diseased hearts and poisoned minds corrupted due to desires (hawa) and
(shubhat) doubts. Indeed, eeman is nude its garment is taqwa (ilah consciousness) and adornment is haya. It
makes one to transcend and sync its corporal and spiritual realm.

Muhammad SAW-the blueprint for entire humanity have the highest form of haya and has been sent only to
perfect the moral character. And the pinnacle and seed of all morality is to reject Taghut (false ilah) and become
a pious slave of Allah alone. As per the understanding of (Jawame ul Kalim ) Nabi’s saw words- Haya is an
inseparable and interdependent twin of eeman, a characteristic of deen of Islam which only brings khair i.e.
beautifies souls and leads to jannah. On the contrary, the one who is devoid of haya gets its heart hardened and
becomes dead which cannot reason, listen, see or obey reality and will ultimately become a fuel of hellfire (An
Nar) if it fail to repent and weep before death. It becomes a slave of hawa and pounce upon whatever he likes (
prevalent ‘I don’t care’ attitude) and nobody matters anymore and it gives not a second thought about the way in
which one is speaking, eating or fulfilling other carnal desires. When the soul dies, it doesn’t feel pain caused by
obscenity, nor get goose bumps or suffocation in heart in violating limits set by Allah.

In this era of instant gratification and jahilliyah when our hearts and minds are enslaved by Taghut and
contaminated by sins, tongues have been blackened by towering lies , eyes have been smitten with vulgarity,
stomachs have been swollen by usury (riba based system) and limbs have been decaying in pursuing
unrestricted carnal pleasures, if we want to revive ever decaying individuals and society we need to rekindle the
fire of eeman and haya.

ALLAH SAYS IN QURAN

 And in no way did I create the jinn and humankind except to worship Me.” [TMQ: 51:56]
 And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love
them as they love Allah. But those who believe love Allah more (than anything else). If only, those
who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah
is Severe in punishment. [TMQ:2:165]
 Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive
you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." [TMQ:3:31]
 O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps
of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.” [TMQ:2:208]
 Have you seen he who has taken as his Lord (ilah) his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray
due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So
who will guide him after Allah ? Then will you not be reminded? [TMQ:35:23]
 And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. And if you turn away - then know that upon
Our Messenger is only [the responsibility for] clear notification. [TMQ:5:92]
 O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And
if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and
the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result. [TMQ:4:59]
 If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and
admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise]. [TMQ:4:31]
 O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts
and guidance and mercy for the believers. [TMQ:10:57]

Muslim]
 “'Faith has seventy-odd branches, the most virtuous of which is La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy

house and children and is responsible for them; a slave ('Abu) is a guardian of his master's property and
