Since time immemorial many casualties have been recorded due to drowning,

especially during the typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines. It devastated properties and
lives of people of whom is affected by the destructive catastrophe. According to the
archipelagic state of Leyte many of its town is located near coastline and most of youth
of today acquire only the skill during their Physical Education where they are able to be
train to swim and different safety hazard during emergency in the water. That is why
DRRM or the Disaster Risk Reduction Management promote many types of training
ensuring the future safety of all the people.

Recently, as we surveyed and find an answer as to how many of the Senior High
School Students has no capability to swim or just even float. We are shocked having to
find out that common answers that they are not able to learn how to swim. Regarding
with these findings we are alarmed that students might not have sufficient knowledge
about those safety hazard in water type disaster.

Application in a practical way is the best solution. We cannot teach a certain person
be able to swim by just teaching theories. We must undergo a training or a special lesson
that will help those students to acquire this skill and knowledge. So we proposed this
Project S.W.I.M.D. which means Swimming Ways being Internalized Most in
Disasters. This project will help young minds of Grade 12 to put an end to every struggle
they have been fighting in swimming properly. This water safety training will also help
students to be aware of the safety hazards during water disaster outbreak.

In line with strengthening the DRRM capacity of Students, all participants will be
expected to carry out procedures in search and rescue operation during the simulation
exercise; Demonstrate the proper way of swimming; Apply their knowledge in swimming
during team simulation; Identify DRRM and CCA Terminologies and common hazards.
With this objectives being stated the young student will incur a lot of knowledge.

The activities or the methods used to acquire this skill. First, is interactive Lecture-
Discussion, then demonstration, after that will be skill enhancement, lastly will the
Examination/Evaluation (Practical Exam). I know our team will be needing a huge amount
of fun to be raised but the result will be useful as it saves life.
As we agreed with the team, below is the stated budget matrix formulated for the
