1.0 Introduction
This project required us in group of 5 with the company named Maddthelin Land to design a
double-storey modern house in a land size 30m × 25m. The model of the house needs to be
present in Google Sketch Up. The house consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, one
kitchen, one dining room, two lounges and one porch. The architecture of the house presented
in AutoCad. The beams designing are calculated manually. Staad Pro only used for checking
the value of the shear force and bending moment. The engineering layout presented in
AutoCAD. The students need to design a beam and slab of that modern house. The
specification of the beam and slab need to be provided.

3.0 Description of house
The room filled with natural daylight that pour in through the full-height windows and sliding
patio doors, while careful orientation and sun shading ensure that heat and glare are
eliminated. The practical space devoid of awkward corners presents the perfect canvas for
owners to imprint their individual personalities through customization and interior design.
The spacious dining area allows for larger dinner parties without sacrificing its intimate
ambience. The sliding patio doors open up fully to extend the space into the lush garden. The
wet and dry kitchens are thoughtfully and discreetly located next the dining area to facilitate
serving and clearing up.
The master bedroom was envisioned as a self-contained sanctuary where the master and
mistress of the house can retreat for rest and recuperation after a busy day. The generous yet
elegant proportions of the room ensure maximum ease and comfort
This cheerful, day-lit room with attached bathroom is ideal for guests or an elderly relative
who requires a room on the ground floor. It is also spacious enough to be converted into a
study or TV room.
Bathroom
The bathroom is provided aesthetics value that can give the calm and peaceful to the user and
householder. This aesthetics value equipped with ceramic wall tiles up to 1500mm high.
Then the bathroom features with the latest and economic technology for bath equipment.
Wall
This house’s masonry walls are used brickwork as a common masonry wall. Then for the
house wall the engineer suggested to use reinforced concrete to give the strong and rigid wall.
Furthermore, the wall finisher is plaster and emulsion paint to

Garage
Modern garage door openers are available with various features and facilities to provide you
with more convenience. Although automatic garage door openers can be highly advanced and
technical, do not need a lot of power to work. After that, safety standards apply to the
manufacturing and installation of garage doors to ensure safe operation by the user and avoid
tragic malfunctioning and improper use. A modern automatic garage door opener is
engineered for the safest operation

8.0 Conclusion
This project needs students to design a beams and slabs of the modern house. that modern
house need to be designed by the students. The students have built their own modern house
using Google Sketch Up. After that, that modern house in the Google Sketch Up transferred
into AutoCAD. Students also need to provides the layout of the beam.
Based on the layout generated, the students need to design the beam. These design
processes really teach the students about how to make the proper design. Students also can
learn how to think logically which reinforcement should be used for the economical purpose
and the distance between the reinforcement. This process is really important in the industries
because it is about money. How much money that needs to spend on the construction.
After this project, the students know how to relate the design on the paper and the
design on site. It really need to consider the site situation when designing the structures. This
is really important for the smooth of the project.
