Gifted Nomination

 Students may be nominated by teachers, parents, or another adult. Older students may nominate themselves or a peer.
 Ask your child’s teacher or guidance counselor about nominating your child.
 After the nomination form is received, written consent is needed from the parent/guardian in order to move forward with the
screening process.
What
happens
next?

 Gifted Checklist:
Teacher completes the Gifted and Talented Checklist by observing Gifted characteristics in different categories: Advanced Language,
Motivation, Creative Thinking, Leadership, Advanced Learning, Artistic or Musically Talented (Fine Arts teachers may collaborate). A
minimum of 37 characteristics is needed to be able to move on in the screening process.
