The story of the animation was based on books that are

in the Noguchi Library. In the coffee table book of 2003

entitled, Urios College - A Dynamic Partner of in the

Development of Butuan City 1901-2001, it explained that during

the Spanish Regime, the priest taught about catechism as well

as reading and writing. hHowever, progress wasn’t seen much

due to the inefficiency of education. But when a Jesuit Father

from Spain came to Butuan, he immediately started to preach

about evangelization, reconciled two bagani chieftains, and

built establishments such as convents, churches, and

villages., and hHe was Father r. Saturnino Urios. He was born

in Valencia, Spain on November 12, 1843.

According to Father. Jose Arcilla, S.J, a former

archivist of the Philippine Jesuit Historian, Father. Urios

was full of hope, charismatic, and patiencet among his beloved

Manobos. He had taught the settlers the mass protocols,

conducted marriages, and settleds disputes among the natives.

A.H Van Odijik, M.S.C mentioned in his book, History of

the Christianization of the Diocese of Surigao and Butuan,

that Father. Urios never a rested a day during his missionary

life., Hhe even wrote letters to his superiors about the

spiritual progress of the region. Even when Father. Urios was

attacked by the rebelslions and fell ill, he was unwilling

to be defeated by them.
