Abstract Submission Guideline

Current Updates: Trauma and Emergency in Plastic Surgery

A. General Abstract Submission


Abstracts should present research or case report regarding plastic reconstructive and
aesthetic surgery or related topics. Abstracts should be written in English. The
scientific committee will review the submmited abstract. Abstracts are selected on
the basis of their medical and scientific significance, timeliness, quality of data and
methodology, and other criteria described herein. Please note that once you submit
your abstract, you cannot edit or resubmit your abstract. An author is eligible to
submit more than one abstracts.
Following review by the scientific committee, the disposition of each abstract
submitted for consideration will be sent via e-mail to the presenting author and all
coauthors listed on the abstract submission form for whom an accurate e-mail address
is provided. Committee reserves full authorization to disqualify or decline any
abstract that does not meet our criteria.
Selected abstracts will be presented in poster session in the form of printed poster.
Author illustrate their study by displaying text, photos and graphs on poster boards.
Abstracts should be submitted online via e-mail to prodibedahplastik@unud.ac.id.
Contestants are required to confirm their abstract submission to PSCE 2017
committee (see contact persons below). Each contestant should be registered as a
participant of PSCE 2017 which will be held on August 26, 2017.

B. Important Dates
Abstract submission opens : June 19, 2017
Deadline for submitting abstract : August 1, 2017
Poster presenter announcement : August 20, 2017
Deadline for submitting poster : August 23, 2017
Poster installation : August 26, 2017, 07:00 ICST (WITA)
C. Required Elements and Format Information
The committee does not accept work that has been previously published or publically
presented. Consideration may be given to a submission if meaningful newer data or
different analyses are included. If your study data or abstract information has been
published or presented at any other major national or international scientific or
medical conference, you will be asked to provide details on the previous presentation
or publication. In addition, you will be asked about the data that have been updated
for presentation at PSCE 2017.
Each abstract at least include elements listed below (case report or other type of
study could adjust as best as possible). The abstract body may contain not less than
200 and not excess than 400 words, letter use is Times New Roman size 12. Section
heads (ie. Background, methods, results, and conclusions) are not included in the
abstract body character count. Abstracts should use A4 paper, with margin in each
side is 3 cm, spacing format is 1.5 lines with before and after 0 pt. Figures and tables
are not permitted in abstract, however it can be displayed on poster board. Abstract
should use standard abbreviation, generic drug names and place unusual
abbreviations or acronyms in parentheses after first use.
1. Title
The title should be a brief phrase describing the contents of the article. It should
be concise and clearly convey the subject of the abstract. Maximum lenght for
title is 100 characters, not include space. Titles should be in all upper case letters
and bold format. Title should use Times New Roman letter size 14.
2. Author’s names
These names will appear below the title. The name of presenting author will put
first and appear in bold. Up to 3 and no more than 3 authors may be included on
each abstract. Please DO NOT enter the names of additional individual authors
that exceed the allowed number of 3 individual authors. Corresponding author
should be indicated with postal address, phone, fax and e-mail information.
Author’s names should be in bold format, Times New Roman letter size 12.
3. Background
Briefly and clearly describe the hypothesis of the study. It also may include
objective(s) indicates the purpose of study.
4. Methods
Detail the experimental methods and processes employed in the study.
5. Results
Describe the precise findings of the study. Describe what you found and include
data.
6. Conclusions
Describe logically sound conclusions and reliable inferences drawn from the
study results.
7. Keywords
Maximum 5 keywords should given at the end of the abstract.

D. Poster Dimension and Printing


Presenting authors should print their physical poster using albatross paper. The poster
boards are 80 cm by 60 cm long portrait orientation. All illustrations and text must
be readable from a distance of 2 meters. Academic institution logos may be displayed
on the poster. Authos shoud put poster’s number on top left corner (which will be
delivered through notification e-mail, if accepted).
Please note that once you submit your poster, you cannot edit or resubmit
your poster. You must submit the final version only.
Poster sessions are scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2017; start at 08:00 ICST.
Please make sure the poster board(s) has been installed properly prior to the
beginning of PSCE 2017 opening ceremony. PSCE committee does not print posters
on behalf of presenters.

E. Presenting Author Responsibilities


First author is considered as presenting author and is responsible for the following:
1. Registered as participant of PSCE 2017.
2. Presenting the abstract for poster presentation, if accepted.
3. Assuring that financial relationships with commercial entities have been
disclosed for self, spouse, and institution.
4. Assuring that if the presenting author is replaced with a new presenter, the new
presenter will do as state above. The final poster submission must include
disclosure information for the author who will present at PSCE 2017.
5. Providing complete and accurate contact and affiliation information for ALL
coauthors; correct email addresses are essential.
6. Assuring that ALL coauthors have reviewed and approved the abstract’s content.
7. Providing poster board(s) as explained on point D.

F. Common Reasons for Abstract Rejection


1. Subject matter is not appropiate for PSCE 2017.
2. Information is not new enough.
3. Abstract is duplicative of other submissions.
4. Format does not follow guidelines.
5. Submission is poorly written overall.
6. Background does not summarize the hypothesis.
7. Data are not included or offer inadequate/insufficient support for conclusions.
