8) The tar image of the /sms/calib/preserve and /sms/config/preserve
directories stored on floppy is now verified.
If the verify fails, repeat the tar_preserve command using different flop-
pies.
5) After the system boots off the floppy disk, it will begin to install QNX and
the current version of SNAC software from the CD to the hard disk.
The software load will take approx. 10 minutes. The hard disk activity
LED will flicker.
6) After the QNX and SNAC software are loaded onto the hard disk,
instructions will appear on the screen. Follow the screen instructions.
7) Re-start the SNAC computer to reboot the system from the hard disk.
8) Boot up the SNAC computer to the service> prompt.
Note Note
Since the SNAC Computer is an OEM hardware component of the
E.CAM system, system-specific information on the SNAC service>
boot-up will be found in the OEM Hardware Section.
Note Note
The software install verification must be performed immediately
after the software install, with no intervening steps. If the system is
allowed to boot up to applications, some files will be changed
slightly. This will result in checksum failures when the snac.check-
sum utility is run.
Note Note
Since the SNAC Computer is an OEM hardware component of the
E.CAM system, system-specific information on the SNAC “service>
prompt” boot will be found in the OEM Hardware Section.

If the disk is still not OK after several passes of DiskFirstAid, you
may try Norton™ Disk Doctor. Be sure sharing is turned off.
8) If there are still disk problems, proceed with this procedure. However,
the archived data may be questionable.
Note Note
In lieu of archiving this data to an external drive and re-formatting,
you may simply leave the Backup <data> folder on the Desktop.
Then proceed to Paragraph .
Note Note
If the ICON computer is a Power Macintosh 8600/300 or G3, then
there are special partitioning steps. See the OEM section.
8) Drag the following preferences from the Preferences folder found in the
System/old folder (in the Backup <date> folder) to the Preferences
folder located in the current System Folder:
Note Note
A message will appear asking if you want to replace the current
preference file with the one that you are moving. Answer OK.

word = e.inside)
Note Note
Each machine on the network needs to have a unique offset ID.
Keep track of each number used for each workstation that will be on
the network! When assigning the DB ID offset number, it is recom-
mended to use the last three digits of the TCP/IP address to avoid
conflicts on the network. To determine the TCP/IP address, press
the Windows key on the keyboard to display the Start Menu. Select
Programs/Command Prompt. In the Command Prompt window,
type: ipconfig /all and press the return key (be sure to include a
space between “ipconfig” and “/”). The Command Prompt window
should display two ethernet cards. Use the last three digits from the
TCP/IP address of the E100B2 ethernet adapter. For example: if the
TCP/IP address of ethernet adapter E100B2 is 192.1.1.125, the
assigned DB offset value should be 125.
2) Click the Windows Start button and in the menu select Programs, then
select Command Prompt.
3) At the Command window type lmutil lmhostid then press enter
