Do you tithe regularly? ___ Yes ___ No

*tithing is a commitment to give financially back to God (through the church) a percentage of what He’s blessed you
with. Scripture is clear that it should be one of the first things we do with money that comes in as well as it being an
amount we are excited to trust God with (oftentimes stretching what we believe to be ‘out of our comfort zone’).

QUALIFICATIONS & LEADERSHIP COMMITMENT OF A CORE TEAM MEMBER

“The same goes for those who want to be servants in the church: serious, not deceitful, not too free with the
bottle, not in it for what they can get out of it. They must be reverent before the mystery of the faith, not using
their position to try to run things. Let them prove themselves first. If they show they can do it, take them on. No
exceptions are to be made for women—same qualifications: serious, dependable, not sharp-tongued, not over-
fond of wine. Servants in the church are to be committed to their spouses, attentive to their own children, and
diligent in looking after their own affairs. Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a
real credit to this Jesus-faith.”
1 Timothy 3:8-13 (The Message)

CORE TEAM MEMBERS SHOULD STRIVE TO BE:

• Sincere, worthy of respect, and of a good reputation.
• Trusting God financially by giving regularly to Exchange Church.
• Have a genuine desire to serve other people.
• Leading and motivating other people.
• Creating positive group dynamics and look to help resolve conflict.

CORE TEAM LEADERSHIP APPLICATION

LEADERSHIP HONOR CODE

As an essential part of the Exchange Church Core Team family, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit
mature behavior that reflects/is respectful of an organization who tries to mirror the life of Jesus in all they
think, say, and do. This should be the basic premise of your desire to participate in a servant-leader position
here at Exchange.

While serving at Exchange, you pledge to present a good appearance at all times. In both attire and behavior,
you should strive to demonstrate high moral standards in all situations. In between serving obligations at
Exchange, you should still keep in mind your association with Exchange and attempt to make decisions that
would reflect well on the team you’re apart of.

If you have made the decision to accept Christ as your Saviour, the way you present yourself to others is of
vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ,
but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and servant-leader.

Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, Exchange Church Core Team are to strive to maintain a
disciplined life of pursuing Jesus: Bible reading, prayer, and regular attendance at a Sunday morning service.
We would also ask that you either refrain from or use your utmost wisdom in regards to:

• profanity
• smoking or chewing tobacco
• gambling
• indulging in much wine or other alcoholic beverages
• dishonest gain
• illegal drugs
• pornography
• sexual immorality
• all behaviors which might reflect badly on the cause of Christ, Exchange Church, and or to cause others
to stumble

By providing an example in speech and action, we encourage others to grow in Christ and become servant-
leaders themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader in the
Exchange Church Core Team family. We should regard it as an essential part of our development, not as an
imposition or restriction.

While Exchange Church doesn’t require all Core Team volunteers to become Christian before serving
(depending on the role), we do ask that ALL volunteers would not say or do anything that would cause disunity
in the Core Team or among any who would call Exchange home. We also ask that ALL volunteers would uphold
and back not only the vision and mission of Exchange, but also the staff and pastors of Exchange as well.
