1.

1 Abstract :
The aim of this project is to develops an online search Portal for the
apply the vacancy job to the web site . The system is an online application that
can be accessed throughout the organization and outside as well with proper
login provided. This system can be used as an Online Job Portal for all job
seekers. The web site can used to manage the job seeker information with
regards to placement. Jobseeker logging should be able to upload their
information in the form of a CV. Visitors/Company representatives logging in
may also access/search any information put up by job seeker .
The project has been planned to be having the view of distributed
architecture, with centralized storage of the database. The application for the
storage of the data has been planned. Using the constructs of MY-SQL and all
the user interfaces have been designed using the PHP technologies. The database
connectivity is planned using the “SQL Connection” methodology. The
standards of security and data protective mechanism have been given a big
choice for proper usage. The application takes care of different modules and
their associated reports, which are produced as per the applicable strategies and
standards that are put forwarded by the administrative staff.

1.2 Introduction :

Job Search Portal is a web application, which serves jobseekers to find


available job vacancies and Employers to identify qualified job seekers with the
prospect of selecting the most qualified candidates. The only way to select best-
qualified candidate is to have a pool of qualified applicants, which is possible by
drawing the interest of individuals in the market. Job search portals best serve
this purpose. E-recruitment has become the standard means for employers and
job seekers to meet their respective objectives.
The traditional methods for recruitment includes Job fairs, University
career employment services, Employee referrals, advertising in the newspapers,
televisions etc. With the advancement in technology and growth of internet
usage, the e-recruitment has revolutionized the way organizations hire and
candidates search for jobs. With the Online Job search portals, the recruitment
process is speeded up at every stage from job postings, to receiving applications
from candidates, interviewing process. The cost of searching/posting jobs will
be much less compared to the traditional way of advertising. Job search portal
stands as an effective means for Employers to outline the job vacancies,
responsibilities and qualifications to attract jobseekers. Using the portal
jobseekers can extensively search for jobs in companies, organizations and
regions they may otherwise have not learnt. In addition, candidates/Employers
can write a review about an organization, which might help them to change the
way things are done.

1.3 Problem Description :


Job search portal portals have become more important than ever because
of the need to get access to find information about the jobs through the Internet.
Existing job portals are studied to come out with the conceptual framework for
the job portal to be developed in this research.
The problems to address in this research would be on how the job seeker search
about jobs Information can improve its services to search the jobs easily by
using the internet. Some issues pertinent to this research to consider include:
Can not apply the job in the easily and hard the apply on time.
The apply and wending to the company take effort and big cost.
This interview to all the job seekers is take more time so the system
can use to interview the job seeker easily in shorter time.
Difficulty apply for job because the remoteness of company.

1.4 Project Idea :


Apply the job by the website this application by it can apply for the
job easily via entering for the site and enter the details the job seeker also can
update this details or delete or allocate interview personal with job seeker etc.
The company can enter the site and put the jobs vacancy in the site and send
record about this jobs .The company can be update and upload the private record
in the any time. The administrator coordinate between the company and job
seeker also managing the website .

1.5 project motivation :


The purpose of developing an Online Job Search Portal comes
from my idea to make the job search efficient and handy. It helps the
recruiters as a primary source of talent search. It also helps the job seekers
to search for current vacancies at a single point. Therefore, we can say
that Online Job Search Portal act as a bridge of communication between
organizations and applicants. With the evolution of technology and
internet being the main source of information for the applicants, these job
portals and have become an excellent method to reach wide range of
audience. Initially, when I am unaware of these portals, I used to do
research about companies and their technology stack through their
respective websites and apply if the job responsibilities matches my
interests. This requires lots of effort and time. However, later when I
realized the importance of job search portals, I am able to access jobs in
companies, locations that I might not otherwise have learned.

1.6 Project Objectives :


1.6.1 Base Goal of System:

Job Search Portal is developed to provide an effective means for the


employers to post job openings with required qualification to have a better
penetration into the job market and jobseekers to find out the information
regarding the current openings in the organization. In addition, Employers can
view the reviews provided by the applicants to make necessary improvements in
their system if needed. Job search portal is both web based as well as an android
application providing flexibility for the users

The objective of the web as well as android application is to provide


flexibility to the jobseekers by providing the functionalities of both job search
and job application in a single application. In addition, this application provides
an effective means for the employers to post job vacancies and view the job
applications by the interested applicants in a single application. Employers can
also view the reviews provided by the jobseekers.

1.7 Importance of the project :

In the age of technology, the Internet has become the main source of
information for jobseekers. Large corporations, institutions, and universities
include information on career prospects on their websites. According to a
survey, 70% of the workforce uses websites or portals on the Internet to search
for jobs in France. These websites or portals provide a search engine to access
information on job opportunities .That is the reason why more developed
countries such as gulf countries have started to use online job portal as one of
the important way to recruit people to fill job vacancies. A study done in2007,
found that 21% of internet users in the EU used the web to search for jobs or to
send job applications. In 2006, this had increased to 67% for unemployed people
. Most companies publish their job vacancies on their website, or use online job
sites. These methods result in great saving in costs.
Today, the Internet is used for a large number of business transactions. People
find the Internet to be an effective communication tool. In a report in 2005, it
was found that 90% of jobseekers in Germany use the internet to look for jobs.
A reason for this high rate of Internet is that applicants are young and highly
qualified and use the internet a lot, and many companies published their job
opportunities online and via their portal.
Job portals are the starting point of jobseekers when searching for jobs. Thus,
some job portals charge employers high fees to publish information on job
vacancies. this, many employers still continue to advertise or publish
information on job opportunities on the job portal, but limited in order to keep
costs down. Many employers still believe that a jobseeker will visit job portals
when searching for job vacancies .
A good job portal can also support knowledge sharing among the members. The
number of online job portals continues to increase. It is believed that three
quarters of people who are searching for jobs, use the internet and online portals.
employers can identify a large number of eligible job seekers and get their
information easily. It means that companies or organizations can extend the
search domain, hence, they have better prospect of selecting the most qualified
candidates. Internet provides employers a way to attract a higher number of
candidates, especially, those who fulfill the job requirements. With online
recruitment, people have access to the job information from anywhere in the
world, while with the newspaper, information is disseminated at local level. One
key aspect of job portal is the cost. Companies spend less to publish or advertise
job vacancies on the portals or websites, as compared to the use of other media
such as newspaper or job fairs. Furthermore, online recruitment is very fast, and
saves time. Once the employers upload the job vacancy on the portal, the
jobseekers are able to view it and send in their resume.

1.8 Scope of Project :


The main scope of this chapter concerns the selection of tools used and the
requirements to be met by the system. The research attempts to provide a new
link between jobseekers, companies and the administrator. This relationship
will illustrate how knowledge-sharing is done through an online system to help
jobseekers to find jobs.
Also this system support only by MySQL database, support language
English only, PHP language ,CSS and linked it by android .

that.

The system shall provide storage of all databases on MY-SQL computers with
automatic switchover

The system shall provide for replication of databases to off-site storage locations.

The product shall be based on web and has to be run from a web server.

The product shall take initial load time depending on internet connection strength
which also depends on the media from which the product is run.

The performance shall depend upon hardware components of the client/customer.

customer information.

1.13 Summary :
In this chapter we are display the introduction to the project ,display the
problem and the incentives that through it we get to the idea of the project that
summarizes in need a society to this project and used the technology devices to
search for the jobs and we displayed the time table and the objectives of the
project and functional ,non functional requirements ,and some constraimts of
project . we analysis the project very well in the next chapter.
