I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. understand the concept of hazard in computer system servicing;
b. participate in every activity of the lesson;
c. appreciate the importance of hazard in a working environment.

A. Preliminary activities

2. Motivation
ACTIVITY 1: WHO I AM
Instruction: (5 minutes)
The teacher will divide the class into (10) ten groups. Each group will choose
one representative, they’ll be given 1 minute to guess what the answer of the
given statement is.

Anything that can cause injury in the workplace

B. Lesson Proper
ACTIVITY 2: FIND MY PAIR
Instruction: (5 minutes)
In the same group, the students will be given a JUMBLED LETTERS and
they need form a word out of it.

TYPES OF HAZARD
 Physical hazard
 Chemical hazard
 Biological hazard
 Psychological hazard

ACTIVITY 3: WHO I AM
Instruction: (5 minutes)
In the same group, the students will be given a definitions of the types of
hazard and there task is to find the correct definition.
 Physical hazards – can cause injury to the workers with or without contact.
 Chemical hazards – any hazardous substance that can cause harm in the
workplace.
 Biological hazards – bacteria and viruses that can cause health effects, such
as hepatitis, HIV/AIDS and legionnaire disease.
 Psychological hazards – stress, violence and etc.

ACTIVITY 4: PICTURE
Instruction: (5 minutes)
In the same group, teacher will call one student in every group, they will be
given a sample picture of the types of hazard and they need to paste it to the correct
type.
C. Application
ROLE PLAYING
Instruction: Preparation (5 min.) Presentation (5 min.)
In the same group, the teacher will assign each group a specific types of hazard
and they will create a role-play out of it.

D. Generalization

 What is/are the importance of identifying hazards in a working environment


especially in Computer System Servicing?
 What happen to the workplace if hazards is not highly observed?

IV. EVALUATION: In a ½ crosswise, the students will answer the formative


test.

Essay:
 Explain the following.
1. Why do we need to give importance in identifying hazards in the
workplace?
2. What is the importance of hazard in when we talk about safety in
the workplace?

V. ASSIGNMENT
Research the following. Write your answer in a 1 whole sheet of paper.
 Write atleast 10 benefits if hazards are properly implemented?
 Write atleast 10 outcome if hazards are not observed in the
workplace?
