7TH SEM DESIGN BRIEF :-

BURN & TRAUMA HOSPITAL
Healthcare is the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease with specialised
staff and facilities. Modern hospitals are designed to minimize the effort of
medical personnal and maximizing the efficiency of whole system. Hospital has
been categorized as General and Specialised (like orthopaedics, paediatrics, burn
and trauma, cancer, mother care etc.)
Burn injury is potentially a big Public Health problem, more people die due to
burn injury and not getting medical facility on time. During 12th Five year plan
Central government has made scheme to establish hospitals for Burn unit across
the country.
For this C.G. government has proposed a 2.73 Acre site for burn and trauma
centre at Bilaspur to offer spciality treatment of all kinds of burn ( Thermal,
Electrical, Chemical, Scalds etc.) and burn deformities such as Conractures,
Disfigurement, white patches and wide range of Plastic and reconstructive
surgery. Project includes infrastructure development and training unit.
Objective of Design-
The objective of this project is to study planning and services related to hospital
building like electrical, air condition, transition (vertical and horizontal
movement)
Components of design includes-
1) ENTRANCE LOBBY + WATING LOUNGE FOR 50 PERSONS.
2) RECEPTION & REGISTRATION DESK
3) O.P.D- DOCTOR’S CHAMBER- 6 UNIT
4) PATHALOGY UNIT
5) X-RAY UNIT
6) CASUALTY WARD WITH EMERGENCY ENTRANCE (FOR 20 PATIENTS)
7) STEP DOWN ICU (FOR 6 PATIENTS)
8) STROKE ICU (FOR 8 PATEINTS)
9) NURSE CHANGING ROOM+NURSE STATION (For 5TH, 6TH, & 7TH no.)
10) GENERAL WARD ( FOR 12 PATIENTS) WITH NURSE STATION & TOILET
11) PAYING WARD ( SINGLE BEDED-FOR 6 PATIENTS)
 12) OPERATION THEATRE- 3 NOS.
a) PRE ANAESTHETIC ROOM
b) POST RECOVERY ROOM
c) DOCTOR ROOM-INCLUDING CHANGING ROOM, DISCUSSION ROOM, TOILET.
d) NURSE ROOM- INCLUDING CHANGING ROOM & TOILET
e) AUTOCLAVE ROOM.
13) CONFERENCE ROOM FOR DOCTORS & STAFF.
14) PHYSIOTHERAPY ROOM

a) BILLING SECTION- INCLUDING BILLING MANAGERS CABIN.
b) ACCOUNT SECTION- INCLUDING MARKETING MANAGER, ACCOUNT MANAGER CABIN &

 GREEN AREA TO BE PROVIDED (MIN. 10% OF SITE AREA)
 BUILDING SHOULD BE DESIGNED USING MODERN TECHNIQUES & MATERIALS, DARK AREAS TO
BE AVOIDED.
