Procedure:

Activity 3: Lead in
Aim: to present the story of the characters and the Sweet Monster
Procedure: T explains to the pupils that the characters meet the Sweet Monster
and end up getting ill from eating too many sweets.
T asks the pupils to say what they think the Sweet Monster has in his
bag.
Pupils elicit the answers and T points to the Sweet Monster and asks:
Do you like chocolate? Yes, I do!
T points to the food items and pupils name them.

Timing: 10 min
Activity 4: Listening and writing
Aim: to understand the story of the Sweet Monster and use phrases such as: Do you
like (chococlate)?; What’s the matter?; My tummy hurts! No more sweets!
Procedure: T plays the recording and asks pupils to point to each picture in their
book in turn. T shows them what to do by holding up her book and pointing.
Pupils listen and repeat chorally and individually while the T is
playing the recording with pauses.
Pupils take roles and read out the dialogue in pairs.
T asks for a volunteer to point to the first picture and encourage
him/her to say the dialogue. She repeats with the rest of the pictures.
T asks the pupils to say whether they like the story or not. If yes she
asks them to tell what they like most.

Activity 5: Practice
Aim: to draw their own sweet tooth monster and recognise the fruits and
vegetables
Procedure: T asks the pupils to draw their own sweet tooth monster along with
their favourite sweets in their notebooks.
Pupils present their monster to the class and say: e.g. This is (Bigly).
He’s hot a sweet tooth.He loves cake.
T gives pupils handouts to recognise the fruits and vegetables by
reading and then ticking the right answer.

Timing: 15 min
Activity 6: Homework assignment
Aim: to consolidate the language of the lesson
Procedure:
T asks pupils to draw their favourite fruit and vegetable.
Interaction: T-Ss; Ss-T;
Timing: 3 min
Assessment:
Continuous evaluation through observation and analysis of answers.
T gives grades to pupils who read the story and who participated the most to the
lesson.
