2018-19
Career and Professional Development
● Attend the 2019 NASPA National Conference
○ Gain knowledge about supervision to develop NASPA/ACPA competency of Leadership and
Organization and Human Resources
● Gain experience in student club/organization support and advising through graduate assistantship
(Seattle University Center for Student Involvement)
● Enhance knowledge of alumni engagement through internship experience
● Develop assessment and research skills in graduate assistantship to enhance NASPA/ACPA competency
of Assessment, Evaluation, and Research
○ Utilize ConnectSU to document learning outcomes for student programs
○ Create post-program evaluation and review plan to assess program outcomes and effectiveness
(prioritizing Seattle University Dance Marathon events and involvement fairs)
● Improve hiring process for student leaders in Seattle University's Center for Student Involvement
(graduate assistantship) for AY 2019-20

Professional and Personal Networking


● Expand professional network of Asian Pacific Islander student affairs professionals through involvement
in NASPA APIDA Knowledge Community, engagement with APIDA educators at Seattle University
and greater Seattle region
● Maintain and expand professional network by attending NASPA National Conference
● Continue barre3 practice and enhance skills as a fitness instructor to maintain NASPA/ACPA
competency of Personal and Ethical Foundations

2019-20
Career and Professional Development
● Obtain first job out of graduate school in the student activities, academic advising, or health and
wellness functional areas
● Gain supervisory skills in job to enhance NASPA/ACPA competencies of Leadership and Organization
and Human Resources
● Participate in live webinars offered through professional student affairs organizations and associations
● Research technology trends and identify its impact in the student affairs field to develop NASPA/ACPA
competency of Technology
● Attend professional association conference (NASPA, ACPA, or conference specific to functional area)
to improve understanding of good practices in the field, specifically to improve NASPA/ACPA
competencies of Law, Policy, and Governance, and Student Learning and Development
● Enhance research and assessment skills by reviewing current assessment practices within the department
of current job. Identify areas for improvement within those practices.

● Seek opportunities to be a mentor for prospective student affairs educators, first-generation students, or
APIDA students

● Volunteer with organizations outside of higher education that align with my personal values and

● Create a list of books/articles about student affairs within an international context with feedback from
colleagues and student affairs professionals
● Seek opportunities for presenting at national or regional conference
● Re-evaluate and update professional development plan
● Participate on a research and assessment committee/project at institution
● Review classic and new student development theories and identify how they can be implemented to
current practices
