“Jesus and me” is essential. “Jesus and We” is disciple
making. Let me explain.
I only met Billy Graham once. This funny story was told
at a banquet. He and some friends were once robbed while
traveling. However, the robber did not demand any money
from Billy Graham. It was so puzzling that a conversation
followed.
Billy Graham: “Why didn’t you take any of my posses-
sions?”
Robber: “Well…. I recognized you, Mr. Graham and we
Baptists have to stick together.”
We at Eastmont have been blessed to have never had any
major breaks in our fellowship. There have been some
bruises along the way, but we have “stuck together.” What
is the secret? (It is not because we are Baptist) It is be-
cause we believe that “Jesus and Me” is as important as
“Jesus and We.” We’ve remained focused on Jesus as a
community.
Several years ago I sat under an olive tree outside Jerusa-
lem. Our tour group was about to share holy communion.
As we sang the hymn “At the Cross” I heard someone
singing in a foreign language. “Who is the linguist?” I
turned around and was surprised to see a Japanese tour
group had joined in behind us. Different language, differ-
ent culture, different land but brought together by Christ.
“Jesus and We” is powerful.
Our simple formula for discipleship emphasizes three uses
of time. 1) Time with God 2) Time with God’s people and
3) Time in ministry to others (John Maxwell’s idea).
Your time alone with God is essential. All else hinges on
that. That is the “Jesus and Me.” However, time with other
believers is crucial. That’s the “Jesus and We.”
Each Sunday we open our doors and whoever shows up is
welcome. They come in all shapes and sizes, colors and
ages. All people matter to God. Over a six week period
God has allowed us to have events for every age group:
Family Conference, Sr. Adult Banquet (and Elvis),
Student D Now, College Conference and Children’s
musical. Our Men’s Ministry and Women’s Ministry are
leading in a few days. “Jesus and We” is powerful.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “Never take fellowship for
granted.” This Lutheran pastor resisted Hitler. He was
arrested, was isolated, imprisoned and executed at the age
of thirty-six. His faithfulness encouraged others to stay
strong. (Jesus and We)
You can have friendship without Jesus, but you cannot
have fellowship. The apostle John writes, “That which we
have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you may
have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the
Father and His son Jesus Christ.” (John 1:3)
I’m glad we have “stuck” together all these years through
Jesus Christ.

Sunday Morning Teacher/Coordinator Meetings
Breakfast @ 8 AM, Room 313. This is a vital Team Meeting
that builds unity and provides insight into our growth. Our
upcoming meetings: April 7, May 5
RA Adventure Weekend - March 22-23 at Shocco Springs
for dads and lads. Cost is $32 per person which covers
lodging, 2 meals, and activities.
Bible Drill - Sundays @ 4:00 pm in Fellowship Hall and
finishes at 6:00pm. On March 24th at 4:30pm our kids will
meet their Secret Encouragers.
Church Drill - Wednesday, April 3 at Eastmont Baptist
6:15pm in the Fellowship Hall
Associational Drill - Sunday, April 7 at Eastern Hills Baptist
Church. Registration at 1:30 pm drills at 2:00 pm.
Timothy Time - Sunday Evenings, begins at 4:45pm on the
basketball courts and finishes at 6:00pm.
State Pinewood Derby - 10am Saturday, May 4th
5th & 6th Grade Mission Trip - May 30-June 2
VBS: The Incredible Race - June 10-14
College & Career Ministry

Puerto Rico Mission Trip
March 8-16. Please pray for us as we share the Gospel
with college students in Mayaguez.
Mosaic
Will be on the last Sunday night of each month. Meets at
Cloverdale Baptist at 8pm. Next meeting March 31.
Home Groups
Every Thursday at 7pm at the Kim’s house (4023 John-
stown Dr). Study will be Letters to the Church by Francis
Chan.
Missions
Guatemala Information Meeting
Will be on March 24 at 4pm. Anyone interested in going
to serve in Guatemala this year (Nov. 23-30) should
attend.
Eastmont Missions Yard Sale
Dropoffs begin March 31. Donate your gently used
items to benefit missions. Sorters, folders, and loaders
needed throughout the week. Actual yard sale is Satur-
day April 6.
 Student Ministry

TIMEOUT MESSAGE SERIES
Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m., Cleve is leading our students in
a message series through Revelation 2-3. The series is
titled THE SEVEN. "He who has an ear let him hear what
the Spirit says to the churches..."
COMPLETE CONFERENCE
Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, several of our female
students (grades 7-12) will attend this statewide event in
Birmingham. Join as we pray for them this weekend.
SUMMER MISSION TRIP
June 23-29, 2019, the student ministry will be in St. Louis,
Missouri, partnering with Street Reach, an inner-city gos-
pel ministry. The cost is $300 per person. Registration
and more detailed information is officially open online at
the church website.
SUPER SUMMER ALABAMA
July 8-12 is SSAL at Samford University. This is a disciple-
ship/ leadership development camp for students who
have completed grades 8-12. Registration is officially
open through the church website. When registering,
please carefully read the section concerning the steps for
a student to be qualified to attend SSAL.

It’s a great time to be involved in the Music and Wor-
ship Ministry at EBC. We are preparing for The Mont-
gomery Passion Play and there is still time to be a part.

ested in being involved through drama, choir or orches-
tra.
SPECIAL GUESTS
The Amen Choir will be singing for us March 24 in the
8:10 service.
STUDENT CHOIR
Our Student Choir rehearses every Sunday at 4PM in
the choir suite. Join us as we serve our Lord through
music.
Student Choir Tour is June 16-20! We will be engaging in
worship and missions with the Baldwin Baptist Associa-
tion in Gulf Shores, Alabama. To register see Lance or
