Important Recruitment Notice

With reference to interviews of teaching posts’ to be held from 16th September 2010 to 1st
October 2010, as per our advertisement 5th pay GR, a clarification is given due to the
Maharashtra Govt. GR No. SPC- 2010/(34/10)/TE-2 dated 20th August 2010 of 6th pay
commission for Teachers’ in Technical Education based on AICTE notification dated March 13,
2010.

Accordingly, designation of Degree Engineering College Teachers’ has been changed from
Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Professor to Assistant professor, Associate Professor and
Professor respectively. The post of Lecturer and Asst. Professor in old GR are designated as
Assistant Professor and Associate Professor respectively in the new GR.

For the recruitment of Associate professor, PhD qualification is necessary.

Designation and pay scales as per New GR are;

1. Assistant Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP Rs. 6000

2. Associate Professor (by selection): Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Rs. 9000
3. Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Rs. 10000, ( to be fixed at minimum Rs 43000 +
AGP 10000)

For the interviews to be held from 16th September 2010 to 1st October 2010, new
recruitment rules will apply.

Those who applied for Assistant Professor in earlier scale (V Pay) will be eligible for Associate
professor post (VI Pay) in new scale only if they are holding Ph.D. Degree and satisfy the
experience criteria. However, their application can be considered for lower post i.e. Assistant
professor in the new scale, if they so desire and as per the availability of the post under the said
cadre.

Qualification Required as Per the 6th Pay GR

Asstt. Professor Qualification:- B E/B Tech and ME/M Tech in relevant branch with First
(Engineering / Class or equivalent either in BE/B Tech or ME/M Tech
Technology)

Asstt. Professor Qualification:- B E / B. Tech and ME / M. Tech in relevant branch with

(MCA) First Class or equivalent either in BE/B. Tech or ME/M. Tech
OR
B E/ B. Tech and MCA with First class or equivalent in either B E / B Tech
or MCA
OR
MCA with first class or equivalent with two years relevant experience.
Associate Qualification as above that is for the post of Assistant Professor, as
Professor applicable and Ph D or equivalent, in appropriate discipline
(Engineering /
Technology and Post Ph D publications and guiding Ph D student is highly desirable.
MCA)
Experience: - Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching / research /
industry of which 2 years post PhD experience is desirable.

Professor Qualifications as above that is for the post of Associate Professor,

experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate

In case of research experience, good academic record and books /

research paper publications / IPR / patents record shall be required as
deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee.
If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at
managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with active
participation record in devising / designing, planning, executing,
analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books / research
paper publications / IPR / patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert
members of the Selection committee.
