EXPERIMENT 5

Designing Electro-Hydraulic System

Automatic Cylinder Reciprocating System

5.1 What is the meaning of reciprocating system?

5.2 Please draw the automatic cylinder reciprocating system circuit for further
understanding.

5.3 Kindly construct the practical step of reciprocating cylinder set up and experiment
from existing components.
Instruction:
1) Take out 5 way P-block, 5 way T-block, P1 Relieve Valve,Vc60, DA Cylinder and
fix onto working panel;
2) Connect a hose from power unit P-line to 5 way P block and do the same for T-
line to 5 way T block;
3) Vc60 AB-line connect to Double Acting Cylinder
4) Take out 2 unit proximity sensor as limit switch for cylinder extending &
retracting movement detection
5) Valve coil and electrical limit switch connect to electrical control module
6) Push button module assign Start button to activate the Reciprocating Hydraulic
Cylinder operation;
7) Push button module assign Stop button to stop the Reciprocating operating
process.

5.4 Construct the electro-hydraulic system to allow the DA Cylinder operate (extent and
retract continuously) until stop button are pushed. Figure 5.1 below shows a photo for
reference of automatic cylinder reciprocating system set up
