Matt Sickels
20 SICK LICKS
Lick 02
MATT SAYS:

The lick starts out by outlining the E major and C# minor chords. Then I played another
E major chordal idea against the F# minor chord followed by a similar B major chordal
idea finally resolving to the 5th (B) of the next E major chord.
Continuing into the second half of the lick, I played some bends outlining the E major
and C# minor chords. The lick concludes with an ascending Guthrie Govan style Csus2
arpeggio (C-D-G) moving in octaves, which then descends through cascading arpeggios
(Dadd9). This line resolves to G#, which is the 5th of the C#m7 chord which takes us into
the second part of the verse progression.
