0.04 – Trailer begins with a happy equilibrium, teenagers
enjoying a party, this is expected of this generation,
everybody is drinking alcohol and having fun, on freytags
pyramid this would count as an equilibrium
0.33 – with the equilibrium broken, tension begins to
rise, as the person who is seen clearly as the protagonist
begins to shout, seeming like she’s turning insane to her
friends yet the viewer can tell that something
supernatural has happened because the friends cant
remember somebody who the protagonist clearly
remembers
0.21 – the fun and happiness continues until they see a
woman dressed in ragged clothes whilst driving down a
deserted road, the sound immediately stops only to hear
a clash sound when the screen blacks out, this is the
beginning of the Disequilibrium
0.40 – the audience are shocked because the seemingly
dead body in the water jumps out and drags a woman
underwater, the screams of the woman being dragged
under adds to the atmosphere and reinforces the idea of
horror. Silence quickly follows with an odd stuttered
whisper
0.24, 0.37, 0.43, 1.01, 1.07- throughout the trailer
narration is told in the form of writing between scenes,
only very vaguely, it revels to the audience that its about
old friend insinuating an old grudge. The audience now
have an idea of the plot.
0.59 – this scene takes place in a cemetery. Cemeteries
are used often in horror films as iconography for death,
in this scene the unusual woman in ragged clothes from
the abandoned road shows up and says “do you
remember me” “you will” this indicates that the
protagonist has a prior link to the woman. This is before
she drops off a cliff which shows that she is not human
because she willingly does it, this gives the audience the
impression of a ghost

1.08 - Scenes begin to rapidly speed up, split apart by
flashes of black between scenes, the length and timing
of the scenes appear to be in time with the tack in the
background, the scene begins speeding up with
whimpers and screams whilst gradually picking up
speed.

1.25 – the speed has rapidly increased along with the
soundtrack, scenes last no more than 2 seconds each,
more of the scenes show the deformed creatures of
which are clearly the main point of the film, this isn’t very
usual as trailers usually leave the fears up to
imagination, for the viewer to imagine what they look
like.
1.41 – after the rapid scenes, the pace comes to an
abrupt stop, the title of the film is then shown, an “outro”
scene is then shown, slow panning shots are used to
contrast with the quick cutting and editing previously,
during one of these slow panning shots a creature jumps
out and appears for no longer than a second before the
trailer finishes
