ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS

a) The EPROM of an 8088 microprocessor system is located at addresses
F8000H through FFFFFH. 2732 EPROM ICS, 4K x 8, are used in this space.
74LS138, 3 to 8 decoder with TWO active low and ONE active high Enable
inputs is used.
Determine:
i. The number of memory ICs to be used,
ii. The address lines to be conned directly to the EPROMs
iii. The address lines to be connected to the decoder inputs
iv. The address lines to be connected to the decoder enable inputs

b) A 5 MHz clock is used, the memory has an access time of 450ns and the
decoder adds an extra 12ns delay. 198ns is to be allowed for since buffers
also introduce delays. The signal to the active low inputs will be used to
produce an input to a delay circuit. Determine:
i. The delay required
ii. The number of flip-flops required in a serial in/serial-out register
to produce this delay given that each flip-flop introduces a delay
of 100ns. Ignore delay due to gates in the delay circuit.
