Outstanding  Student shows evidence of full understanding of the artifact and a convincing
9 - 10% connection between the artifact and the commentary.
 Student presents information in a well-organized and logical sequence where
readers can easily follow.
 The commentary fully shows the student’s insight and critical thinking.

Good  Student shows evidence of good understanding of the artifact and a good
7-8% connection between the artifact and the commentary.
 Student presents information in a logical sequence where readers can mostly
follow.
 The commentary clearly shows the student’s insight and critical thinking.

Satisfactory  Student shows evidence of adequate understanding of the artifact and a


5-6% reasonable connection between the artifact and the commentary.
 Student presents information in quite a logical sequence where readers can
still follow.
 The commentary fairly shows the student’s insight and critical thinking.

Marginal  Student shows inadequate understanding of the artifact. The connection


3 - 4% between the artifact and the reflection in the commentary could have been
made clearer and more obvious.
 Student presents information in a way which may hinder readers’ logical
comprehension to a certain extent.
 The commentary needs further elaboration and support.

Unsatisfactory  Student shows little understanding of the artifact and the connection between
1 - 2% the artifact and the commentary is indirect or poor.
 Student presents information in an unsystematic sequence which readers find
it hard to follow.
 The commentary is superficial or irrelevant and shows the student’s weak
analysis.
Language (10%)
Outstanding  Student presents in mostly grammatical sentences, with a rich variety of
9 – 10% structures and expressions.

Good  Student masters a lot of grammatical structures and a nice choice of


7 – 8% expressions.

Satisfactory  Student manages to use fair and basic grammatical structures and a
5 – 6% reasonable choice of expressions.

Marginal  Student only manages to use simple grammatical structures, or makes


3 – 4% mistakes in language, with a limited range of expressions.

Unsatisfactory  Student hardly presents in grammatical structures, with broken sentences and
1 – 2% a wrong choice of expressions. Audience’s understanding is seriously
impeded.
