This company started originally in Sweden, and later expanded to operate in multiple countries.
Nobel Biocare Procera K.K. is one of production plant sites for customized dental production platform.
The plant produces artificial teeth of various kind to be used as implant.
Global IT department provides IT services and operations, having developers, network specialists, project managers,
and IT coordinators.
Title: Production IT Engineer for Nobel Biocare Procera KK. Chiba plant (Based in Narashino-shi, Chiba,
Japan)
Functions included in this position are to provide support for both the office and production networks as listed and
mentioned below.
This position includes local and global responsibilities.
Local:
1. Working as a liaison among local teams and remote teams in Asia, Europe and the U.S.
2. Focusing on production issues, while functioning locally as an ITC and Level 1&2 support.
3. Working closely with the local management.
4. Providing IT services to end users, or internal customers, within the plant.
Global:
i. Maintaining the corporate standard environment and providing a local hand to remote teams. These
activities include detecting deviations of the current situation from the standard, and taking actions to solve
the difference.
ii. Remote management and support of the main production network in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Karlskoga,
Yorba Linda, Mahwah, and Chiba. My duty includes deploying operating system on a standard computer and
distributing local applications.
a. Software deployment, using install shield (to form MSI files), and then deploy packages via SCCM
b. Deploy operating system
c. Troubleshooting on production workstations
Local responsibilities:
1. Communication with vendors to accommodate requests from Chiba in activities:
a. domestic vendor for local projects
i. network redesign and re-cabling
ii. migration of IP Phone infrastructure (NTT)
b. global vendor for daily activities and network projects
i. Remote support companies which provide support services for Lotus Notes, Windows
desktop, application infrastructure, Windows server, Active directory, SAP, etc.
c. Multinational vendors occasionally on site
i. HP support for servers, printers, and production clients
ii. Lenovo support for CAM workstations, mainly C20 and C30, ThinkCentre M92 desktop,
laptop
iii.NetApp support for storage maintenance
2. Providing support for office environment, desktops and laptops for office workers.
a. Supporting and troubleshooting Windows desktop environments

a. For the legacy production network which is not managed by SCCM, kitting and building Windows

b. Providing static IP ranges to core workstations, while DHCP is in place for non-core computers
4. Providing operation support for some in-house applications, working with other Global IT teams in
Sweden and the US.
a. In-house applications developed by Swedish people: mostly on local servers. Restarting services
and applications as trained.
b. Troubleshooting on Windows clients for operating system and some applications issues
c. Create RFP for integration among HR system on SAP, Active Directory and Google Apps, with
sample VBScript codes
5. Decommission of old server environments
a. Migration of old and legacy environments from the old file servers to the new file servers
