Filmmaker Dandrell Scott and D Fault Entertainment Look to Change Black

Cinema with Animation

Chicago filmmaker, Dandrell Scott, and his production company, D Fault Entertainment, are being
praised for independent animated shorts.

Los Angeles, CA, March 07, 2019 --(PR.com)-- If you've been studying Hollywood recently, there has
been a resurgence of black excellence in cinema. Whether in front of the camera or behind it, African
Americans have been earning praise and recognition for the stories they capture. However, animation is
still an uncharted territory for several minorities. Seeing the possibilities for funny cartoons, Dandrell
Scott and D Fault Entertainment look to create a new era for animation in Hollywood.

Since its inception in 2015, D Fault Entertainment has been nominated seven times for animated projects.
The latest and biggest nomination comes from the 2019 Golden State Film Festival. The PG film entitled,
“Bizarre Man: The Jingle Bell Battle,” will make its Hollywood debut on March 25, 2019 at the TCL
Chinese Theatre. The company's CEO, Dandrell Scott, is the sole animator and director of this film. Scott
states, “It feels great to be nominated. But the most rewarding aspect is watching my film at this classic
theater. I remember having Chicago premieres in small screening rooms. Now, we're at the legendary
Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.”

“Bizarre Man: The Jingle Bell Battle” centers on an African American superhero, Bizarre Man, who
protects the city's inhabitants. Unlike most heroes, Bizarre Man has strange powers, and an unexplainable
sense of humor. His arch nemesis, Dr. Mayhem, isn't so comical. Due to his hatred for Christmas, Dr.
Mayhem devises a plan to kidnap Santa Claus, and release a toxic gas into the world. Bizarre Man must
stop the evil villain before the gas is released.

Prior to this movie, Dandrell Scott was involved in stand-up comedy, voiceover acting, and comedy
apparel. As a way to differentiate from other comedians, Scott created animated shorts. He later founded
D Fault Entertainment as a production company to handle his growing projects. When asked about this
newly nominated film and its importance, Scott explains, “I want minority children to see themselves in a
positive light. If they can witness a black man and woman as superheroes, they will have insurmountable
love and pride for themselves as a culture.”
