1. Objectives
Safety campaign is a structured course of action to achieve a specific goal. Campaigning
works to raise awareness of a particular issue and ultimately shape the behavior of the
intended target workers. This campaign focuses on electrical safety whereas many scope of
job in PESB yard cannot be separated by electrical works. The goal of this campaign is to
prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical
contact when work is performed near or on equipment or circuits which are or may be
energized.

c. Electrical Inspection
An electrical inspection refers to the thorough checkup of the electrical connections and
wiring installed in PESB yard. Some hazards are generated by electricity:
Fire: Electrical short circuit has been the reason behind a fire breakout . These
short circuits are caused by different loose wires in the meter or in the cabling
itself.
Shocks: Exposure to electrical energy may result in no injury at all or may result
in devastating damage or death.
In other words, electrical inspection’s purpose is to protect people who will be working
the premises from fire or shocks.

b. Electrical Inspection
This activity carried out on 7th August 2018, HSE member and electrical team inspected
temporary electrical equipment such as distribution board, cable, lighting, ELCB and
general. Based on result of inspection, still found some grounding cable in 35mm then
all will be completed to use 70 mm (complete on 10 Aug’18), some T-way connection
do not have tagging inspection which all of electrical equipment should use blue color
tagging (all complete on 10 Aug’18). Electrical equipment activities are shown below.

4. Overall Review
Electrical Safety Campaign ended on 31st August 2018 which all activity was
successfully carried out, target of this activity is to give education to all workers related
to electrical safety and prevent accident related to electrical shock. Based on data from
in-house clinic there is no medical treatment or first aid case related to electrical injury.
Nevertheless, increasing of workers awareness will be continuously carried out by doing
training for new member related to electrical safety, in addition electrical inspection will
be carried out by maintenance team 3 monthly, and HSE team will always monitor and
re-educate workers if some violation of electrical safety practice occurs in the future.
