1. A right triangle has a hypotenuse of 10 m and a perimeter of 22 m. In square meters, what is the
area of the triangle?

2. The lengths of two sides of an isosceles triangle are 10 centimeters and 12 centimeters. Find
the number of square centimeters in the positive difference between the greatest and least
possible areas for this triangle.

3. The perimeter of a right triangle is 60 inches and the length of the altitude to the hypotenuse is
12 inches. How many square inches are in the area of the triangle?

4. Given the areas of the three squares in the figure, what is the area of the interior triangle?

5. As shown in the figure, B  90 , AB = 3, BC = 4, CD = 13 and AD = 12. Find the area of the
quadrilateral ABCD.

6. Quadrilateral ABCD is a trapezoid, AD = 17, AB = 30, BC = 25, and the altitude is 15. Find the
area of the trapezoid.

7. The area of trapezoid ABCD is 318 cm2 . The altitude is 12 cm, AB is 13 cm and CD is 37 cm.
What is BC in centimeters?

8. Triangle ABC has sides AC, BC and AB measuring 18, 24 and 30 units, respectively. If D is the
midpoint of segment AB, what is the length of segment CD?

9. In right triangle EFH, G is between F and H. If EF = FG = 1 and EG = GH, find EH.

18. Parallelogram ABCD is made up of four equilateral triangles of side length 1. What is length of

31. In the diagram, ABCD is rectangle with AB = 12 and BC = G is formed by rotating ABCD

32. Let two 8 x 12 rectangles share a common corner and overlap. The distance from the bottom
right corner of one rectangle to the intersection point along the right edge of that rectangle is 7.
What is the area of the shaded region?

33. The area of square ABCD is 256. Point F is on AD. Point E is on the extension of AB. The area
of right triangle CEF is 200. Find the value of BE.

34. E is a point on the side BC of a rectangle ABCD such that if a fold is made along AE, as shown
in the diagram below, the vertex B coincides with a point F on the side CD. If AD = 16 cm and
BE = 10 cm, what is the length of AE, in cm ?
