PhD Thesis:
The broader area which I have selected for my PhD research is “Monitoring, Evaluation and
Controlling Practices in Pakistan for Public Sector Development Projects”. I am in a stage of knowing
the current status of existing body of knowledge in the given research field including where excessive
research exists and where new research is needed. I will narrow down my research area accordingly.

1. My research paper titled “E-Government as a Tool to Improve Quality of Government Services
for Common Man in Pakistan” published in 12th QMOD and Toulon-Verona Conference took
place at the University of Verona, Italy on 27-29 August 2009.

2. My research paper titled “Moderating Effects of Communication Direction on Job Satisfaction
and Job Performance: A Factorial ANOVA Analysis” has been accepted for presentation at 13th
Toulon-Verona Conference, taking place at the University of Coimbra, Portugal on 2-4 September
2010. I am further refining this research work to publish it in well known journal.

Experience:
Planning Commission / P & D Division Islamabad Pakistan [June 2010 to Date]
I am currently working as Research Associate (BPS-17) at Planning Commission / Planning &
Development Division Pakistan on contract basis. Under the supervision of Senior Management I am
involved in planning, monitoring and evaluation of different Public Sector Development Projects
(PSDP), preparing working papers of PC-I & PC-II of projects for ECNEC, CDWP and DDWP
approval and working on the development of KPI’s of the Planning Commission and specifically for
Result Base Management and reports, brief, presentations for Senior Management.
Ministry of Defense Islamabad Pakistan [Feb 2009 to June 2010]
Worked as Research & Data Analyst (BPS-17) in Ministry of Defence Pakistan (Planning Section) on
contract, at British based project. My duties included to manage, monitor and evaluate data; to collect,
analyze and generate reports using Customized Software from the data available and conduct related
research; to prepare and make presentations; to write and develop reports; to communicate with
different stakeholders and present final analysis to Higher Management and to utilize data
management and analysis to record, measure, and present achievements and progress towards
meetings objectives of the project. I was In-Charge of technical section and responsible for Technical
& IT management including procurement of all types of hardware and software, management of
Server and Local Area Network installed in office, providing support and oversee the technical staff
to ensure the acquisition of appropriate equipments and maintenance of the system. I also worked as
acting General Staff Officer-2 and responsible for office management, overall administration &
management of project, event planning and management of conduct of workshops, seminars,
conferences etc.
AJK Planning & Development Deptt. (P&D) Muzaffarabad [Nov 2007 to Feb 2009]
Worked as Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (BPS-17) at Multi Sector Rehabilitation and
Improvement Project (MSR&IP) under Planning & Development Department Govt. of AJK. My
position was to support top management to ensure that adequate monitoring and evaluation systems
are in place in order to provide the funders with an assurance that the investment is being put to
effective use. I was responsible to monitor achievements and progress of targets as set out in the grant
recipient’s operational plan, to Develop and implement a monitoring framework for projects, to
undertake monitoring visits to projects and compile reports detailing key findings, to Initiate, establish
and maintain information and reporting systems enabling monitoring of projects, to Prepare
performance and financial monitoring reports for the programme, as required, to Disseminate strategy,
policy and good practice within the Section, amongst partners and external organizations.
Paige Limited Islamabad [Sep 2006 to Nov 2007]
Worked as Asst Manager Admin & IT at Paige Limited Islamabad, which is a multinational Oil and
Gas Exploration and Development Company. I was working under Sr. Manager Admin & HR and
was also In-Charge of IT department. I was responsible to handle Admin/HR matters including
external and internal correspondence, managing employee’s profiles and petty cash of company. I was
also responsible to handle and manage all IT, software, hardware related functions inclusive of
network management and troubleshooting in an environment of company having 35 to 40 computer
nodes. In addition my responsibilities included management and maintenance of telephone exchange
of company consisting of direct telephone lines, Faxes and telephone extensions. My responsibilities
also included purchasing of all new equipments, analysis for new installation and entering into
Contracts and Service Level Agreements with different service providing companies.

I was in visiting faculty of university, worked as Lecturer and used to teach course of Mobile
Computing at MS level.

Worked as Network Support Engineer at Nayatel & Micronet Broadband Ltd Islamabad. My
responsibilities included; working on NMS (Network Management System) and CRM (Customer
Relation Management) system to manage Wide Area Network providing DSL and FTTU services to
the customers, Timely and efficient coordination with customers, regards to the DSL and FTTU triple
play network services through telephones and e-mails, Trouble shooting of customer
complaints/issues regarding DSL and triple play Nayatel Pvt. Ltd. services with proper and complete
notification/information on trouble ticket of MBL/NTL and Working on DSL/FTTU services
technology including network configuration, router configuration, hardware/software installation,
OLT, ONT and IP MUX configuration.
Ufone GSM Pakistan [May 2005 to July 2005]
Worked as internee in R & T (Radio and Transmission) department of BSS of company including
practical study of different units of GSM network, visiting faulty sites of BTS, took part in
troubleshooting, discussion and understanding of frequency allocation and distribution of owned
ARFCN on each site and cell level in RF Planning department. I also worked there on MS Project
software while scheduling different tasks and assigning resources and cost to each task.
