J. Fuel Tank
(1) Two integral wing tanks extended into the wing stubs (Figure 1-10-01-2).
K. Engine Oil
(2) The capacity of each tank is 9.9 (10.5 qt) of which 6.8 (7.2 qt) is usable oil.
(1) The oil used for APU lubrication is stored in an integral tank (Figure 1-10-01-4).
M. Hydraulic System
(b) To operate the landing gear, nose wheel steering, brakes, and thrust reverses.
(2) Each system contains a reservoir for storage of hydraulic fluid (Figure 1-10-01-5):
(a) System 1 and 2 are located on either side of the fuselage, just aft of the wing and
under the wing-to-fuselage fairing;
(b) System 3 is located inside of the rear fuselage, just behind the rear pressure
bulkhead.
(3) Each of the three hydraulic systems contains an accumulator and they are pre-charged
with dry nitrogen gas:
(a) Systems 1 and 2 each have an accumulator with a nominal gas volume of 819 cm3
(50 in3);
(b) System 3 utilizes an accumulator with a nominal gas volume of 1638 cm3 (100 in3).

(2) The flight-crew oxygen cylinder is installed in the RH front cabin underfloor area with quick
access from the forward cargo compartment (Figure 1-10-01-6).
(2) The flight-crew oxygen cylinder is installed in the RH front cabin underfloor area with quick
access from the forward cargo compartment (Figure 1-10-01-6).
P. Passenger Oxygen
EFFECTIVITY: ALL
(1) The passenger oxygen system consists of chemical oxygen generators and continuous-
flow masks installed in proper dispensing units. The dispensing units are located in the
PSU, galley area, lavatories, and flight attendant stations (Figure 1-10-01-6).
(2) An altimetric switch automatically activates the deployment of the oxygen masks when the
cabin altitude pressure reaches 4267 m (14000 ft). A manually actuated switch is also
available in the cockpit to enable the flight-crew to manually deploy the masks for passen-
ger, whenever necessary.
Q. Passenger Oxygen
(1) An altimetric switch automatically activates the deployment of the oxygen masks when the
cabin altitude pressure reaches 4389 m (14400 ft). A manually actuated switch is also
available in the cockpit to enable the flight-crew to manually deploy the masks for passen-
ger, whenever necessary.

RECOVERY MANUAL
(1) Portable oxygen cylinders with masks are installed in the stowage compartments in the
forward and aft areas of the passenger cabin, to be used for medical and first-aid purposes
(Figure 1-10-01-9, Sheet 2 and Figure 1-10-01-9, Sheet 3).
S. Batteries
(1) The aircraft is equipped with two 24 VDC, 27 A.h, nickel-cadmium batteries.
(2) Battery 1 is located in the forward avionics compartment and battery 2 is located in the aft
avionics compartment (Figure 1-10-01-7).
T. Escape Slides
(1) The aircraft is equipped with four inflatable slides that are positioned at each of the aircraft
passenger and service doors (Figure 1-10-01-8).
U. Fire Extinguisher
(1) There is one fire extinguisher in the cockpit (Figure 1-10-01-9, Sheet 1).
(2) There are four fire extinguishers in the passenger cabin (Figure 1-10-01-9, Sheet 2 and
Figure 1-10-01-9, Sheet 3).
(1) The landing gear system provides ground-rolling capability for the aircraft, thus enabling
take-off, landing and taxi operations (Figure 1-10-01-10).
(1) Pilot seats, attendant seats, and observer seat are provided with approved life vests
(Figure 1-10-01-11).
